Wanted to share with you all an event hosted by our Santa Barbara gun club.

We had 16 boy scouts ranging from 9-14 years old. A few had never shot before. We shot .22 rifles recently purchased with NRA grant funds. The boys did a great job paying attention and applying all the safety rules - there were no infractions. To make the shooting more challenging, we had the boys blow up balloons and stake them at 50 yards. A slight breeze gave them a wandering target. We also stapled 6-inch pie plates to popsicle sticks at 50 yards, shooting gallery style. I had my usual assistants and the scout master and a few fathers were there to help make the day safe and fun

We've invited the group back for a spring shoot, this time at the trap field. There's hope......

Excellent! There's nothing I enjoy more than taking young shooters out and teaching them good habits. Since my kids have pretty much grown up now I'm running out of students!
Until they lost privileges at the police indoor range the local gun club used to have youth shoots with 22's one evening every week. No cost to the participants, all they had to do was show up and rifles and ammo were supplied.
In the spring all the kids were invited to the clubs outdoor range where there was an almost unlimited supply of M1 Garands, M1 Carbines and other assorted weapons and ammo. All supervised of course.

Glad to see the next generation being attended to...

Because if we're the last generation...why bother?

We're fighting for RKBA not only for ourselves, but for all time.
