While out and about today I found this Yugo 24/47 sitting on the rack in a Pawn Shop.
The model 24/47 is an update M24. The markings were removed and restamped during refurbishment.
Most 24/47 were stored away after being refurbished. Some saw action during the civil war in the 90’s.
This one is not numbers matching but has strong rifling with dark groves. I’ll have to see if it will cleanup.

There is one minor repair on the stock between the front and rear bands.

Here’s a few more pics.

I’m not sure about the mark above the model number. I’ll need to look it up in my Yugo Mauser book, when I get to work tomorrow.

It appears that this one may have seen some use in the 90’s. I’ll need to get my friend from Croatia to translate this for me.

It has a small SAMCO import mark on the barrel.

I bought one of those from J&G Sales several years ago. Mine had at least 11 different repairs on the stock and the top handgaurd was broke almost all the way through. I glued that together. Also when I got it the front sight was hammered half way out of the dovetail. Thats because it shot way left and that much was needed to get in the bullseye. The rear sight was not installed straight and made the gun shoot left. I bought a Mojo sight so I had some windage adjustment.

Over all I was disappointed in the rifle and sold it at a slight loss. I hope yours works better for you than mine did for me.

Very nice condition, with just the right degree of field-use character!

Nice little trench art you have there. It’s most likely the name/nickname of the guy who owned it during the war.
