I have a Yugo M70 fixed stock version that was built by Century on a DCI receiver. I really want to put a wood pistol grip on it but I'm pretty sure the pistol grip is a 922r compliance part, and Im having a hard time finding wood pistol grips made in the US. Im trying to figure out if there is maybe another part on the rifle i can easily switch out for a US made part so that i can do this and still be legit. I was thinking the slant muzzle break would be a quick fix but I have no idea if it is a US or foreign made part. I would like to put a wood PG my WASR, so any suggestions specifially for that gun will be welcomed also.

Got a picture of the grip? It might be Yugoslavian in origin.

US barrel = 1
US receiver = 1
US FCG = 3 parts

muzzle brake or pistol grip for the 6th part. Need pix (or look at your slant brake for a "C" on it).

The Yugo has the Century PG with the finger grooves. The WASR has the standard black plastic Century grip.

I'm not familiar with Century finger grooved PGs. If this is so, changing the slant brake to a US made one will allow you to use an imported PG on the Yugo.

On the WASR, you're gonna have to change the buttstock or upper & lower handguard to use an imported PG. You could use US made mag parts instead, but I'd not recommend that route.

I just was looking at the Yugo muzzle brake and it appears to be stamped with a C. Im assuming this means its a Century part. Any chance that if both the PG and the slant brake are Century parts, one of the other typical compliance parts (barrel, FCG etc...) may be foreign make? I guess if it comes down to it I could make a grip myself. It just would be easier to buy a foreign made wood PG. Thanks for the help, nalioth.

On my CIA Yugo M70 AB2 Underfolder the comp. parts are 1 pistol grip..2 upper/lower hand guards..3 reciever..4 5 6 FCG, so if you have original stock and handguards, the slant muzzle brake would have to be the sixth part. However, if you get either Scott at Ismurphy.com or Matt at Ironwooddesigns.com to make you a wooden pistol grip, you would still have your six parts.:D
