At a local antique mall, there is a Yugo Mauser 1924 in 8mm. It is in used condition, not new in box. According to the tag, it is actually a 1924 not a Yugo 24/47. From my research, I think the rifle was manufactured by FN for the Yugo gov. Does anyone have any information or a price for this rifle? Thanks.

The rifle is curently priced at $380, does that seem high?

That seems high to me. Are you an advanced Mauser collector who needs a Yugo 24 to fill a hole in your collection? If you aren't, I'd pass. You can get the more common 24/47 for a third of that price.

Im not at all a mauser collector. The rifle interests me because It is at a local store. the closest gun store to me only has a real beat up swedish rifle of some sort as well as a Lee Enfield Mk 5 Jungle carbine that has been badly sporterized. It is hard to find good mil surp rifles, or any older guns, in my area, so Im really tempted by this gun.

I think you'd be paying about $180 too much for that rifle if you are looking for a shooter. Yugo 24/47's go for around $200 typically.

It sounds like it sucks that there isn't a better selection in your area. Any other shops you can check? Or private sellers advertising on one of the gun boards?
