Hey gang! Well... I bought a Zastava factory new Serbian made M70A pistol in 9mm last night on Gun Broker, for the grand total of $219.00. I did this shortly after watching a Nutnfancy video on YouTube where he spoke highly of the pistol for it's price point.

I bought this gun for a few reasons:

1: I love Serbian military history/weapon history. The M70A is basically a 9mm version of the Serbian military pistol M57, which is in 7.62x25mm, so I was very drawn to the gun because I've always wanted a Tokarev but since 7.62x25mm ammo has dried up, 9mm is about the least expensive centerfire pistol out there and is still very effective for defense, which leads me to wanting to use the gun for:

2: Car gun-- right now the only other pistol I have is a Glock 19 Gen 4, which was a gift from my father and I treasure it. I am not comfortable using it as a car/truck gun because of the sentimental value attached and also it was a good chunk of money that my Dad gave for it. At a little over $200, it won't break my heart if God forbid this gun is ever stolen from me.

3: Range gun- naturally, I'll be using this for plenty of target practice both for training and fun. 9mm is inexpensive, and I like it greatly for shooting. I also am interested in shooting the gun because it is different from anything else I've shot before.

So do you guys have any experience or knowledge of this pistol? Care to share? I'm excited about it but know it isn't going to be the best pistol ever. I'm just looking for some feedback on this and would love to hear what you guys have to say.

Thanks! :D

Yeah, I found the same gun a JG sales or something like that for $20 less but I'm not too worked up about it LOL.

I paid significantly more than that for one when they first came out, and I am actually quite satisfied with it. The 9x19mm Zastava M70A pistol is all I thought it would be - a Tokarev design chambered for 9mm Luger.

I like it a lot. I would like it quite a bit more if I had gotten it for your price.

Ive been buying Winchester White box 7.62X25 at Scheel's for quite some time. It is loaded by the Czech Republic, is boxer primed, reloadable brass, and white hot at 1645 FPS.

I have a M-57 in that caliber and I just bought an M-70 in 9MM. Like them both, but that M-57 shooting that Winchester ammo is more fun.

I bought one of those guns from J&G, and well . . . I'm having some mixed feelings about it. Here's what I think:
This handgun is quite well made. You'll hear crap from online reviews about "mediocre" fit and finish; I don't know what they're talking about. Considering it's an all-steel gun that's only about $40 more than a Hi-Point, it's pretty damn good. I took my completely apart and cleaned it,and that aided functioning. It comes in a hard case with two mags, cleaning brush, and fully illustrated owner's manual. For $247 shipped, this is a GREAT deal!
But ... the sights on mine are fixed, and they are off. Way off. As in, shooting two feet below point of aim at 15 yards. I have filed and filed on the front sight until it is merely a nub. I have pretty poor vision, and I could hardly see the sights to begin with. Now, I can hardly see the front sight at all.
So regretfully, I am probably going to get rid of this shootin' iron. I like it, it's damn fun to shoot, but if I can't hit with it I suppose it's no good to me. Too bad; I like the design and I really liked how solid it felt in my hands, with so little recoil. Hopefully it will meet someone else's needs better. :(

Front sight

WM Gunman, don’t give up on your Zastava. With a little JB weld, you can fix the front sight so your eyes can see it.
