Why Do You Carry A Gun?
Because a police officer is too large and heavy for me to carry.
Seriously, because I realize this is not the country I grew up in and I don't feel as safe as I did growing up (50s and 60s). Because we have 13 year old kids with guns carjacking people and robbing people...
What's your preferred every day carry?
While I am a 1911 fan and have several full size 1911s I find the full size versions a bit too bulky for every day carry, especially during summer months. Years ago a friend needed money resulting in me buying a 3" Kimber which I planned to sell off. Then I...
So what you are saying is that if I wish to sell or give a gun to my son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter or any family member I should have them go through a FFL? So if I sell a gun to anyone other than going through a FFL I should go to jail? Sorry but I do not see that happening. :)

While ammo cans stacked may make it look like I stockpile ammo I really don't and never have. Over the past 35 years or so when I saw ammo on sale if it was cartridges I shoot I bought some. Anytime out and about with my wife in for example Walmart if I saw a good price on cans or boxes of ammo...
Do you decrease potential firearms purchases because of Form 4473 & FFL interaction?
Never give it a thought and some of my guns were bought the GCA (Gun Control Act) of 1968 before a Form 4473 ever saw the light of day. Some of my guns I completed a Form 4473 when that became law and other...
Here I sit in the lovely Cleveland, Ohio suburbs. Yes, we have "private sales" at gun shows so what is happening will effect us here in Ohio. Well legally anyway. Now if we give this just small thought Biden is giving out feel good, do nothing legislation making it sound like this is a good...
Wife knows exactly what I own and what's in the safe. Wife also knows that along with my guns and her jewelry in the safe there is an inventory of everything including estimated values. I am aware of which pieces of her jewelry go to daughter and daughter-in-law as well as granddaughter for...
I only have one PCC which for me dates back to 1966, my Ruger 44 Carbine. This rifle was my main go to for hunting in W. Virginia and took plenty of whitetail.
Pictured here with a Ruger 10/22.
The 44 pictured in the foreground. Always fun to compare the bore diameters.
First manufactured...
I have 100 .45 ACP cases all primed and belled waiting on powder charge and bullet seating. One day next week or over the weekend I'll get them finished. Then I have a pile of .38 SPL and .357 Mag to work on. Now with warmer weather on the horizon time to get into some rifle loads.

I am using primers I bought and had left over from a gun shop my wife and I owned circa early 90s. A variety of brands mostly CCI. They all still function fine. Stored in original containers in a cool dry place.

I have used unopened small plastic bottles of Birchwood Casey Tru Oil that are pushing 30 years old. I have used open bottles which were opened a year or more ago. All I ever did with an open bottle is gently squeeze the bottle before screwing the cap on tight. When a cap is hard to open I just...
Optic or no optic on your defense handgun?
No I have no optics on any defensive handgun. I carry concealed and that can get difficult when adding optics to any gun.

Much of this is why when I go to my VA I am careful what I say. Especially to the usual canned list of questions. Beyond that, I am fine with the VA but just make sure you are school housed on any and all questions you may be asked, even in a nonchalant manner. I have never been asked any...
Depends on where I am going. While Ohio is constitunal carry I do have an Ohio CHL (Concealed Handgun License) which is honored by several states. However when I go back east to the liberal cesspool of NY all of my guns remain home. When I do travel to states other than NY I always have the...
Been there and done that. Cherry Point is where my life was good till 71 when Iwa Kuni came along. Then in 72 I ended up as part of Task Force Delta which introduced me to Nam. That was the first M16 I ever saw or held. Cherry point in 71 I was a sergeant before I went WESPAC. :) After the...
Guessing you guys had graduated to the M16 by then. During 69 we trained and used the M14 which I was really fond of. Funny part was we flew into Nam in 72 with M14 and they promptly took it away from me and handed me an M16A1 which I had never held let alone fired in my life. The M16 became my...
I thought I knew how to shoot right till June 1969 when the Marine Corps taught me I has much to learn. Edson Range Camp Pendleton CA after a few weeks, one week snapping in and one week live fire I managed to qualify Sharpshooter so one above Marksman and one below Expert which I was happy with...
Yesterday I made it to the new Range USA which just opened locally. I took one of my 3" Kimber 45 ACP guns and one of mt full size 1911 Colt Series 70 guns. About 100 rounds through each.
Love having a new range just a few miles away. Membership is monthly and inexpensive which works...
