I've got several of those "spam cans" of ammo, both rifle and pistol. Some is relatively new production (less than 3 years old). Is it better to leave it in the spam can, or put it in a USGI ammo can with desiccant and a humidity indicator card and check it once a year or so?
How do I know...
... I hear the phrase "Springfield XD" ever again! All I ever see is XD ads, everywhere! ***!!! It may be a fine pistol, but is it 100 times better than a SIG, Walther, Colt, Beretta, [insert name here] pistol?
For the record I have fired an XD in .40 S&W (don't know the model, but it was the...
Got lucky here and found a dozen or so boxes of WWB 100 round for $19.97, and about 20 100 round boxes of WWB .45 auto for $29.97. Bought a few of each. All other pistol ammo except .22 bare. Heck, they were even out of .25 auto this time. No shortage of rifle ammo at all. Comes and goes, I guess.
Thanks for the replies. Mine is blued; I wish it was stainless but I bought it used so not really a choice. I might have it chrome plated though...
Hi CP. I think maybe I'll stop by tomorrow and see if the nearest local (within 30 miles) shop can order one for me. Actually there is one closer but he's much more of a gunsmith than a stocking shop. Nice if you need your hunting rifle worked on. Really nice folks and cheap transfers, though.
How about these? The SS one sounds like the type Slademark mentioned, but does not have any visible weld mark down the spine. Pretty sure the blued one is OK...(?) I'm not a 1911 guru, and definately not a photographer.
Must be nice... Went to the the local Sportsman's Warehouse to check one out about two weeks ago. None in stock. Waiting list? **32** people ahead of me - for that particular pistol - in po-dunk Washington. I would have been number 33. No PPKs in .380 (or .32). No P22's except in pink. Very...
I have never had a problem with new/old stock USGI surplus mags. The only other mags I've tried were Wilson Combat brand with a big heavy brass weight at the bottom. I bought a copier box about 1/4 full of various mags at an auction because it had some WW2 P.38 mags in it, and those were at the...
Made in late 1943, considered a "second variation" byf 43. Approximately 88,00 made. Made by Mauser as stated above. I'm not sure what you mean by "second marking." There is a eagle over 135 (e/135) acceptance mark on the frame. On the slide (can't really see) there should be an e/135 acceptance...
...amazing as we have a Democratic governor. Governess, I guess. Now if we can get rid of that moron Nickels...
Mathematically speaking, yes, an AD *is* inevitable over time (providing that the gun shows aren't banned, in which case this discussion becomes moot). And yes, there are WAC...
Got the flyer today - $379 in "excellent" condition with box, manual, cleaning rod, and two mags. +$15 for "handpick". Probably one of the best deals out there in a quality used 9mm.
I have both, and both shoot very well. As was mentioned above, a lot of the parts are different than a Beretta, even the magazine and grips, so I would not consider it a clone. I bought my PT92 used, and it had crappy looking ("buggered up") grips screws. To replace them I had to get them from...
Uh, yes, I'm quite serious. If you had an AD in the mall, they ("they" = the anti-gunners) would not try to shut down the mall. If you had an AD in a bank, they would not try to shut down the bank. If you had an AD in a gunshow, you bet your ass the liberal media would make it a front page...
To answer the original post, I've been going for about five years now. Prices have recently gone up, as they have everywhere else. At least at the last show I could still find ammo, when Sportsman's Warehouse and even Wal-Mart are very thin. I priced ammo I was interested in, mainly 9x18...
Well if you don't go, I guess it's more guns for me. I fully understand and support their policy. All it takes is one accidental discharge and the liberals would be all over it. It's the largest gun show in the state, held right in the middle of the biggest concentration of liberals in the...
So do you leave it cocked when you are ready to store it, or do you dry fire it? Which is worse - leaving the firing pin spring compressed for long periods of time, or the dry fire?
