As far as the sparks. I shoot a lot of Silver and Brown Bear. They both throw a lot of sparks. And I concur, clean the FP channel. Rodger

The safety is part of the cocking knob. Pull the cocking knob to the rear, turn counterclockwise not quite a 1/4 turn then release. (It helps if you rest the butt of the stock in the crook of your arm when doing this.) Hope this helps Rodger

I picked up a new PT111 Mil Pro about amonth ago. It is very accurate, functions flawlessly,(PMC HP, Brown Bear FMJ, Blazer Brass FMJ, Hornady XTP) and conceals very easily. I carry mine in a Don hume IWB with metal belt clip. I am very pleased with mine. Rodger
