bought a 3rd gen 9mm very accurate reliable as long as I didn't use fiocchi. it liked 147 wwwb would put all of them in 4" bullseye at 15 yards.I just couldn't get used to trigger and sold it to my friend

My experience has been up and down. I bought a Mil-Pro PT145 (I don't know what generation it is, but it has the light rail and the long DOA trigger pull for each shot) and loved it. It worked great for about the first 100 rounds, then the slide started locking back after every shot. I had to look closely (real close) and found that the spring that holds the slide lock was coming out of place. It appeared that the plastic frame was ever so slightly bulged out right at that point and wasn't holding it in place. The dealer where I got it is a Davidson's dealer, so I took it back and within a week they had me a brand new gun that has worked perfectly since then (1-1/2 years, probably 500 rounds). I use it as my CCW in a Smartcarry.

Overall I'm still happy with my experience and I'd certainly buy another one. As a matter of fact I'd like to get a PT111 to use for practice since the ammo is cheaper.

holster for pt111 mil pro

hey scud_dusty
i use the fobus p11b paddle holster and it works great. wearing scrubs on my way to work i carry it and its even ono problem with those loose waist bands.

Can someone recommend a good quality ccw holster and belt for a Mil Pro? Just signed up for my CCW class yesterday
Just took delivery of a FIST cropped shortcut for my 111 Quality is good, holds the gun "high and tight", the turnaround time was good and the pricing was extremely fair, expecially for custom made. I ordered mine with the sweat guard extension. Glad I did, because those serations on the slide can dig into the old spare tire. I was on the fence about not having a retention strap, but the way it's made, you don't need one. Very nicely done.
As for a belt, I've been using a Don Hume and it seems to be working out quite well. Any holster without a proper purpose made belt is a bad idea.

I've documented the bad of my Mil Pro a few times. On the good side, it runs flawless. It has fed and ejected every different round I have put through it without an issue. It's help up well to the elements with relatively low maintenance. That's saying a lot living on the Florida coast.

I picked up a new PT111 Mil Pro about amonth ago. It is very accurate, functions flawlessly,(PMC HP, Brown Bear FMJ, Blazer Brass FMJ, Hornady XTP)
and conceals very easily.
I carry mine in a Don hume IWB with metal belt clip.

I am very pleased with mine.

Pt 745

I have a Taurus Millenium pro 745. I LOVE IT. Is a .45 ACP caliber and shoot very well, is also accurate and reliable so far, I have shot about 1500 rounds so far no malfuntions at all. It is very easy to conceal and confortable for carrying it. I was comparing it with the G26, and not much difference in size or weight. The G26 has a longer barrel than the 745, but the 745 has a longer grip, about 1 inch. Other than that I do not see why paying more or the G26 when I also get lifetime warranty with the Taurus. Nice gun.

I had a 3rd generation 111 and liked it but sold it and got a .40 and like it quite well. Both have/had very good triggers with a long take-up and light break. I'll get a .45 some day.

No problems here

My Mil Pro PT111, 3rd Gen., has given me no problems, it is in my opinion a great value. I only wish I would have gotten the stainless slide. The finish is not the best, but it is what it is and for CC, it is great.
Good Luck and Be Safe!

I bought my son a USED PT-111 Pro over a year ago. We don't know how many rounds were fired before we bought it but he has put well over 3000 rounds through without a problem. He usually fires 200+ rounds at a time at the range without a failure of any kind. Of course he cleans and lubes the pistol after every range trip so that is a big help in keeping it operational.

I have a PT145 - no problems. I shoot about 200 rounds each time at the range - not one issue at all. I also carry it. Very easy to conceal in my opinion - even with my cheapo IWB holster.

I've had a PT111 Millennium Pro one year now and love it. Fits like a glove which surprised me - it being such a light and small gun. Nice sights, accurate, reliable and two 12 round magazines. I guess mine is a second generation since it's DA only which takes getting used to. I've heard the new third generation is SA/DA, a real advantage.

Dry firing the 85, you know, I'm sure I did a bit, but I generally use snap caps or spent casings to prevent damage. And the exact same thing happened to two revolvers. I certainly won't badmouth Taurus products, as I like them overall, but it seems odd that that happen twice.
I've never heard not to dry fire Taurus revelvers, anyone else hear of that?

Now a CZ-52.....................
