No rifle powder at present so it will depend on what's available. I'll see him again before hunting season and can provide him with 4895, 4350, H335, and BLc2 as well as some Hornady flex tip 30-30 165 gr. bullets. I have 8 lb jugs of all those powders. With the crunch with reloading...
Can .308 Winchester dies be used for reloading the .307 Winchester. I'm visiting my step-daughter and her family so I'm away from my reference books. My step-daughter''s husband recently acquired a Winchester 94 in .307 and he has dies for a .308. He just retired after 20 years in the navy...
Might be a solution. I have slug rounds for my 20 ga. I have buckshot in 00 and #1 buck for my 12 and #3 for my 20, all 2 3/4". I've always used a rifle or handgun for critters other than birds.
Going hog hunting on a WMA in Florida and after deer season only shotguns or rimfires are permitted. What buckshot size would be preferred to bring home the bacon?
How do you change the safety on a Remington 870 from right to left hand operation? Both my wife and I are lefties (not our political orientation) and I would like to change the operation of the safety. For home defense I leave the safety off and the chamber empty, in the game field this is...
I've been struck by BB's when I was a kid. I always had my kids and now my grandkids wear safety glasses when shooting BB's or firearms. I've also been struck by .22's when shooting steel plates and had a ball from a cap and ball pistol whiz by my head after striking a pine tree. My shooting...
I discovered that Lee has a set of dies for the .38 Long Colt and cases are available. Now I just have to determine if the Dillon .38 Special shell plate will work with the .38 Long Colt. I like the idea of cutting down .38 Special cases. Can anyone tell me if the case wall thickness...
Thanks for the responses. The .38 Long Colt uses a .357 bullet so my .358's should work ok. One of my church members has a home machine shop and should be able to trim a .38 Special crimp die to the proper length.
You're right Jim, we were getting beat on the reloads. Every little bit helps.
Can the .38 Long Colt be loaded using .38 Special dies? A shooter using this round in his S&W 627 cleaned our clocks this past weekend and I thought I might try this cartridge in mine if I don't have to buy new dies.
I use Ed's Red for gun cleaning. My formula differs from Waywatchers as I add acetone to the mix. I do pour off a little before adding the acetone for use as a lubricant.
My shooting companion needs a recoil spring for a Sig 1911 carry and doesn't have a PC. Can somesone tell me the proper size Wolff recoil spring for this pistol? Wolff doesn't list the SIG 1911's on their web site and I'd like to order the spring for him.
