Another Question About the Charter Bulldog

Merle1, if you meant to write 10 (vice 0) yards, I like a defensive revolver to be sighted at 10 yards in case I ever want to qualify with it. BTW, I note that the Charter Undercover sets up in DA better than most.

Another Question About the Charter Bulldog

Thanks, I am considering one and wouldn't want to get stuck with a 5 yard sight-in.

Another Question About the Charter Bulldog

Can anyone tell me what range the three-inch barrel bulldog is sighted for? I prefer the 4.2-inch target model but the adjustable sights on it look flimsy online. I have the .38 Undercover and it is sighted for 5 yards whereas I prefer 10. Incidentally, I have the .22 Pathfinder and it...

    SW Model 36

I was astonished at the accuracy of the 36 and with a 1 7/8-inch barrel no less. I took it and a Charter Undercover to the range. At 10 yards I fired the Charter 5 times at my homemade 8 X 11 target. No shot appeared on the page. Next using the 36 I was hitting my little 1-inch bullseye and...

Smart People--Take-down Clip on Range Officer

The Range Officer takes down like any 1911. There is no "clip" that i know of. I just traded mine.

    Colt 1991 Question

Thanks much, gents. Jmr40, I was thinking something along those lines, that machining was behind it since neither gun is alloy. And yes, USA Vet, 9mms would come in heavier normally due to more space being taken up by the .45. USN Vet here.

    Colt 1991 Question

I note that my recently purchased 01092 model 9mm 5" weighs about three ounces less that my .45 Colt Commander I bought new in 1995. The latter is 36 oz. If both have plastic mainspring housings (which may be the case) how can there be such a weight differential?

    Henry Rifle

I was about to buy a Henry until I noticed it has no loading gate. But aside from the normal drawbacks of this I am wondering if Henry isn't using the tubular magazine because a loading gate in a brass receiver might tend to show scratches and dents. It seems a little sneaky to me. After all...

    Range Officer 9mm

I bought an R. O. in 9mm last year. I like it, it IS a racehorse in that it is sensitive to ammo. I stick with American ammo and it works well. If I am very attentive I can detect a trifle of trigger creep, however I don't consider this a minus. The $850 price is close to what I paid. This...

    9mm with target sights

I have the Springfield Armory Range Officer in 9mm. No problems with it, it does seem to have minimal creep in the trigger. I notice its barrel is considerably thicker than my 9mm Colt milspec for instance. The adjustable sights are ideal. It is parkerized and comes with an Israeli-built...

    Garland Shooting

OK, I've got my retro shirt that Charlie Sheen wore in Two and a Half Men (not really) so now what handgun and caliber did the traffic cop at Garland use to shoot the terrorists? One reporter used revolver and pistol interchangeably, which in not incorrect, but is misleading. Thanks for any input.

    Springfield RO vs 1092 Colt

I giving the nod to the Colt because of the trigger creep, although it's not bad and does give an indication of let off and so might even enhance accuracy. I like the commander too. I have it in Colt 1991A1 .45 caliber. This is as opposed to the combat commander which is little more pricey.

    Springfield RO vs 1092 Colt

These are both 9mms, the Colt the stainless version. Accuracy was about the same but in the RO there is a touch of creep while the Colt breaks clean. I used 6 mags, the 2 Colts, 2 ROs, a Wilson Combat, and one unknown. The Wilson Combat mag was pathetic with several failures to feed out of 9...

What is your best 357 revolver?

Clearly some fine revolvers here. I like my pre-lock SW 60 w/3-inch barrel. However it is tight. The cylinder pushes, it doesn't spin. The hammer is very stiff to cock. I also have the Taurus carbon steel 608 which is not for carry at 44 ounces. It with its 4-inch ported barrel does not...

    Confusion regarding "Sigma" quality ranges.

That is some trigger on the Sigma but it actually improves your marksmanship. I have one in 9mm and the M&P to compare it with. When I got the Sigma it malfunctioned much but then after six boxes it is as they say, utterly reliable. A mostly under-appreciated pistol in my opinion.

    Remington Carry Commander

This is one I'm interested in but I'm seeing conflicting reports as to its weight. I have read two reviews that say 35 oz. And yet at the Remington site it is listed as 38.5 oz which is heavy for a Commander. My Colt 1911-A1 is 36 oz. Could anyone enlighten me?

M & P and Its Light of Day Profile

Anyone bothered by the fact that you can see through the M&P pistol? It's referred to as a combat gun but it would appear that much dust could enter between the slide and the receiver. The Smith Sigma is the same way. I don't have a Glock, nor have I looked at one so I can't speak to that...

Which gun would you chose ? A 1911 or a Striker fired design ?

My Sigma 9mm was not reliable at first. It took about 5 boxes before it became so (never a problem now). The trigger IS squishy and hard but you get used to it to the point where it is not a detriment to accuracy. For a carry gun it beats the 1911 for weight and getting on battery.

Got myself a Ruger SR1911 Commander today!

Excuse me. I meant to say hammer. I prefer the spur hammer.

Got myself a Ruger SR1911 Commander today!

I would like it except it's too heavy and has a skeletonized trigger like most do. That's just me.
