How do you feel about the Ruger M77?

A 90grn 5.56 would be great. A rifle with the magazine in the grip would be very useful, handy, and fast to reload.

If I was really going to standardize an assault rifle cartridge, it would simply be the 7.62x39 necked down to 7mm, using a 100grn steel core. That would have a good BC and shoot flatter.

I'd get the one in 7.62x39. Much easier to find magazines and ammunition. You save money buying the magazines and the ammunition will be less likely to dissapear.

I use my TAPCO 20 as a fixed mag and reload via stripper clips.

Ah, crap. The Threaded cap won't come off the assy. There's a dimple on the seam where the cap meets the buffer tube.

We're on the same page. The factory internal buffer sys doesn't buff any more. That's one of the reasons I'm getting the Black Jack instead of that questionable block of gray stuff. That big block just sort of sits in there and would be a malfunction threat if it were to chip or tear.

I've ordered a BJB internal buffer for my CETME. The small drum shaped buffer that fits inside the actual buffer assy. It has a good reputation and I've found Black Jack Buffers to work much more reliably than others. What do you CETME owners think? (Also found that g3 magazines work better...
