1911 Sistema replacement hammer Q's

I want to change the hammer in my sistema. Do I need to re-mate the sear to the hammer, or can I just slightly adjust hammer hooks?

If you've never done a trigger job on a 1911 before, this is NOT a good place to do on-the-job training. That said, go here and read the pertinent threads, then decide if you want to proceed, or take it to a professional:

You could buy a set of hammer and sear that are mated (Chip Mccormick comes to mind), but minor fitting might still be required.

If I were you, I'll take it to a qualified gunsmith like nicholst55 said.

My smith bought a new sear with the new hammer. It wasn't much more, and you know they're gonna work.

Thanks for all the input. I plan on seeing the initial setup to see how it works with my current sear and go from there. I may get lucky and only have to do some minor fitting of the hammer hooks to my current sear.

I'll just go slow, I can always take metal off, but it's hell putting it back on.
