Did anyone see the interview featuring the cast of '24' on CNN's Larry King Live? I heard about it on Laura Ingraham radio program (who is mentioned in the interview).

I don't have a trasncript to post, but here is a link where you can watch the video. Its pretty disgusting--I was much happier just enjoying '24'. I wish the actors would just shut the hell up.

IBTL

I've been ready since last season.:D

I've got the VCR set and the popcorn popped.

Chuck Norris stops shooting people when he runs out of ammo. Jack Bauer stops shooting people when he runs out of people.

Jack is back! Whoo-Hoo! Hope the BG's are wearing their Kevlar kneepads.:neener:

The model of sig he use to carry was not a p229 even though that is what everyone think's. He never carried a p229 it was a November issue of a p228. In a 9mm. You can tell by the serration's go the full length of the slide compared to the p229 which goes only half way. The P228 was the d.o.d issue of spaecial op's and intel right after 9/11. They have recently went to the hk uspc and the p2000. the p228 is now a canceled model. Glad i picked one up before they did that.

ANNA'S DAD - "Its pretty disgusting--..."

I watched the interview from your link. What was disgusting about it??

Just actors being actors and talking about how the show is formatted.

In fact, they made it plain that even though it is not a pleasant subject, fighting terrorism, they were happy that out there somewhere, there is a "Jack Bauer standing on the wall."

And indeed, there are "Jack Bauers" out there on our side. :)

FWIW.

Regarding the interview:

Moropis' "Freedom fighter", "noble" and "righteous" comments (referring to his terrorist character) annoyed me. You can defend his comments by just saying he's in character and that's just how his character sees him self. I still thought the comments were in bad taste.

I found Kiefer's response to the referendum on torture utterly annoying. First, which you can't tell from the interview, Laura Ingraham was misquoted in that she never said "torture" and her comments were lighthearted at best. I believe her exact words were "tough tactics" or something similar.

I also didn't care for Kiefer's implication that people are drawn the show for the interaction of the characters and not for seeing the terrorists get what they deserve. Sure, there are some great characters. There are, however, a lot of shows with complex character interaction--that certainly isn't the main reason I watch '24'.

I just wish they would keep the comments to themselves and not appear on interview programs that are clearly going to head in this direction.

Maybe I'm just looking for a reason to dislike Hollywood, but I certainly could have done without having seen this interview. That'll teach me to watch Larry King--first time I've done that in many, many years.

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be watching on Sunday (with my new 46" HD flat screen :D :D :D ). If its anything like previous seasons, I'll be so lost in the action I won't even remember what was said.

True, but at the same time this makes the show real and human, rather than some slick, polished, cheesy thriller about pretty boy main character, senseless shootings, dumb blondes, and bad guys getting killed.

Annas Dad: Why shouldnt actors be allowed to speak their mind? You are allowed to? If you dont like it dont watch. If you dont want to hear what they say dont listen. You have the option of changing the channel.

Did you get mind when Tom Selleck spoke his mind on the Rosie show? Or when R. Lee Ermey spoke his mind about guns in the recent article? Or when Charleton Heston speaks his mind?

How is it any different than the cast of "24" speaking their mind?

Not a bad start, either.

****Possible spoiler

Drudge article says they'll go nuclear tonight, and certain government officials are less than pleased about it. Something about "irresponsible broadcasting" or some other such horsepucky.

Oh who cares, you're talking about a show that routinely talks about paranormal things and invites scam artists like john edwards on there. It isn't hard news, why care about what an actor thinks of politics?

The new season is entertaining so far. As usual it has alot of really really really cheesy elements. Why is there a 30 year old man playing a teenager? Is someone who has been in a communist prision for a length of time still really going to be in shape ready to get up, run around, and kick ass? And honestly wasn't the vampire bite of death over the top even for 24? I can't wait for tonight's episodes ;)

What do you expect from a guy who was in Lost Boys?:) The thing about Kal Penn playing a teenager is weird. First, i'm not really sure that he character is supposed to be a teenager. He lives with his dad, but really he could be any age.

Actually, Larry King wouldn't let me come on his show--something about not knowing who the hell I was.

I don't think its appropriate for actors to use their notoriety to spout often ignorant opinions regardless of whether or not I agree with them. If the actor has a background in politics or in anti-terror tactics, let 'em speak. For instance, Ronald Reagan was an actor. I wouldn't have given two hoots about his political opinions in the early days. After his experience in the government at both state and federal levels, however, I think he was more qualified to speak about political matters than say, Barbara Streisand or, for that matter, Tom Selleck.

I actually fault CNN/Larry King more than I do the actors. The interview should have been about '24' (something they were all qualified to discuss), not about the torture or interrogation tactics employed by our government. Larry asked the question--I guess Kiefer had to say something.

Just my opinion--you don't have to agree with it.

Ugh...guys...it's on in less than 2 minutes.

What the hell are you doing on line!:cuss:

Jack is back...and he needs our support.

Well, I hear my CTU phone ringing (you know the sound:cool: ), it's probably Gecko45 looking for another Lat-Lon position. Gotta go!

Hmmm? What gun will Jack shoot people's knees with this year?
