250 savage loads

Anybody out there have a pet load for 250-30009250 savage)? So far, h380 isnt working for me with a 90 grain sierra. Thanks

I settled on a 100 gr ballistic tip and a max charge of 4895. My rifle was a bit finicky and that was the only bullet above 87 grains that would shoot decent groups. Many pounds of venison sausage later it still works great.

If H380 isn't working for you with 90 grain bullets, then you might want to try RL-15 or V-V N540.

H-380 is too slow for 90 grain 250-3000 loads.

Lyman #49 shows it at the very bottom of the list of powders suitable for an 87 grain bullet.

Even then a compressed max load is 250 FPS slower then some other powders like IMR-3031.

Do you thing Ramshot Tac would work in 250? I will try RL15 this weekend.

Been using IMR 3031 since I started loading for mine. 100 gn ballistic tip has put quite a few deer on the table. Without looking at a reloading manual, I load right in the middle as far as powder goes. Tried Varget but came back to 3031.

Thanks. I have a little rl15 (damn little), H322, maybe a little 4895, and tac. Everything else in the drawer is slower. I hate to buy the 3031 unless I know it will work. Thank you for the help.
