.38 special lswc hp where can I buy online?

Where can I buy this ammo from online? I bought some winchester 158gr. lswc hollow point ammo from kiesler online about 6 months ago. I just looked on thair page and coulden't find it. I also checked ammoman.com and it seems that they only offer the federal version which in fine but it seems they only sell in bulk.

Also woulden't a regular swc round work as well in this rounds place? And how about just plain old ward cutter rounds? I've heard of people who use wc and swc round for defenseive use. But I only prefer to use the 158gr.lswc hp round for self defense so feedback on the other two mentioned rounds work be fine to.

So where can I get this ammo online besides the two above mentioned places? I want to buy a box or two so some place that doesen't require a minimum order would work. Thank you

I don't know where to find it online, but Federal Nyclad 158gr. LSWC HP +P seems to be good stuff from my anecdotal experience.

Actually, www.ammolab.com had a chance to test the nyclad 158+P in a 2" snubbie, and it didn't do too well. Not enough expansion. The plain lead Winchester is probably more reliable as it appears the plastic nylon coat on the Federal is slowing expansion. Federal is also notorious about not giving you max power for any given load, they're very conservative sometimes to the point of "wimping out".

Winchester isn't bad. Remington is often a bit hotter and hence short of having Weshoot2 at Gray Area Ammo brew you something wild up, the Remington variant of the 158 +P lead hollowpoint is the way to go if you can find 'em, otherwise the Winchesters.

Now, there's a problem with these lead loads if your gun is a real lightweight aluminum/Scandium/Titanium/unobtainium critter. Under recoil, the slick lead can yank right out of the shells in the unfired cylinder bores, lengthening the cases and tying up the gun.

In that case, the load I'd pick would be the Winchester Supreme 130grain+P JHP. It has a massive gaping JHP cavity and has been tested for good expansion from 2" snubs. I've shot 'em before from my Charter Undercover, recoil is modest and accuracy was good. I just wasn't sure they'd expand until I saw some tests in both bare and clothed gelatin.

To add another couple of cents:

I've shot many SWCHP +Ps out of my scandium 340pd without any trouble (I've had the bullet-pulling problem only with .357 Silvertips). And, there is one place you can get'em a little hotter than Remington. Zero ammunition down in Alabama produces a SWCHP that clocks (according to them) at 910 fps. It's soft swaged lead, like the Remington, so should expand as reliably as any of 'em from a short barrel. I know there aren't the same kind of testing and data for a small producer like this, but I figure these soft lead bullets aren't rocket science. Anyway, they're at least as accurate in my gun as any of the major factory loads, and have been 100% reliable and consistent for me. They're also cheap. You can check them out at rozedist.com.

Stick with the 158 gr. LSWCHP+P. Forget the SWC and WC. How many law enforcement agencies, who approve .38 special revolvers, issue semi-wadcutter or wadcutter ammunition? I'll bet the answer is zero, or close to it. Do any of you LEO's have an answer to this question?
