.380 ammo? Anybody finding any?

A local outfit, a Mom & Pop Shop, is selling .380 reloads in my neck of the woods at $30 for 50 rounds. I passed and am waiting out the storm with what I have on hand, which isn't near enough. I sure wish that all of you hoarders would knock it off. :)

Only 380 ammo I've found around here was one box of Fed Hydro
shocks. They were 20 bucks for a 20 round box. Have ben reloading
mine but can't find primers. My reloads are good for practice. Gold dot's
are about $19 a box of 100,Sierra a little less. Bullets have gone up
in price. Shoot my 45 with cast bullets cheaper.

Watch WalMart. They have had a bunch over the past several days. Must have been a batch that went out. Almost every store in my area has it.

My local WM was putting out a case of WWB 100rd VP in 380 yesterday, I believe the price was around $32.

Went to the gunshow

They had some .380 at twice the price that I paid last year. I just said forget it. I will shoot something else and wait till the price comes down.

ALL THE AMMO PRICES HAD INCREASED AT LEAST 25%. Same thing with most of the guns. Six months ago, I could get a BERETTA 92 for low to mid $400.00 at the show, now it is at least $100.00 more.

I saw SIG 232's in the $700.00 to $800.00 range and they were serious!

As I understand it the issue is that 9MM and 380 are loaded on the same production line. 380 will not be made until all 9MM orders are filled. It may be a while folks!
I wonder about MFS ammo from Hungary. 380 is their national cop ammo and they don't export it to the US - just 45ACP.

I am currently on the job in Latin America, and was in department/grocery store yesterday. They had shelves full of ammo with a large supply of NIB .380 ammo for less than $20 per 100. Too bad I can't bring it back in my checked luggage.....

I bought a Bersa 380 back in Mid April. It's been almost 2 months and I can't find a single round. I have 2 orders online that are both back ordered. It's gotten to the point that I regret buying the gun. I could have dug a rock out of the backyard that's just as effective a weapon as that Bersa with no ammo.

Saturday I went to MC Sports in Lima, Ohio and scored their last (25 ct.) box of Hornady Critical Defense Hollow points for $18.99.

I also got a box (50 ct.) of Magtec from Vandalia Range and Armory for $17.99. They don't have any to sell to the public but they kept back a few boxes to sell to their customers who purchase a gun.

I hope they get to producing the .380 ammo soon as I'm down to about 170 rounds. Oh well, I guess I'll have to start shooting my .22 (1200 rds.), 9mm (1000 rds.) or my .40 (500 rds.) until the .380 becomes available once again.

;)

I got 200 rounds of winchester .380 fmj today at my local walmart....of course I know the guy that stocks it and he called my cell phone and let me know he had it.

I also had a friend pick up some remington jhp 100 round boxes at a walmart in Memphis the other day. They had 5 boxes but I only got 3....left some for somebody else. It seems to be getting easier to find around here. Still hard to find but it seems to be getting better.

I have found plenty of Hornady's new Critical Defense .380 at Carter's Country's here in the Houston area.

I found some in my basement........on a serious note you have to check online sites every hour if you can and you may be able to score some....Mike

for example....Natchez had some Hornady XTP on today around 11am it was gone by 1pm

Was waiting for someone in Hillsboro, TX last week. Happened to see a Wal-Mart sign so I wemt in to check. They happened to have 20 or so boxes (winchester 100rd) of 380, a bunch of 9mm, 40 and 45 (more ammo than I haveseen in a long time, had 357mag, 44mag, 38spcl and more). I recently bought a 45 so I stocked up on 45 so I can shoot it now. Bought a box of 380 for a friend as well. The guy behind the counter said he had not seen that kind of ammo since there was a Rep. President and I have to agree.

Buffalo bore

I have been able to get the Buffalo bore ammo via the internet on two occassions. I have 5 back orders of 380 for several weeks. No one is comming through other then then BB. Try Pro Ammo.com and Cabelas. Problem with it is, over a buck a shot and only 20 rounds per box. Also very strong stuff, +P, for the light Kel Tec.

I just about stopped shooting my 380 about a year and a half ago when I got more into 45. After reading this thread I went and checked my supply of 380.................8 boxes of Winn SXT + 300 rounds of fmj. Maybe I should put the SXT in a bank safety deposit box after seen the prices it's going for.

I work throughout the state. I traveled north yesterday; about 75 miles away to a small town. They had 2 gun stores. I walked into one and looked at what they had. They have a little of everything. Including 6 boxes of Blazer aluminum 380 auto ammo. Price tag $21.95 per box of 50. I didn't need any, so I didn't buy any. I bought some at Walmart a couple weeks ago for $16 a box. I think that's one reason MOST places in our state has ammo. People don't hoard. They buy what they NEED and leave the rest for others. Yes, there are the gougers who go to walmart and empty the shelves and then sell them at the gun shows and gunbroker; but most consumers don't buy it "Just to Have". Those who do want large quantities, probably bought large quantities on a normal basis even before this scenario. As such, they probably bought it online. So, if anyone from Wyoming really NEEDS 380 auto ammo; and doesn't just want it to hoard or stockpile, let me know and I'll tell you some places that have it in stock. If you're not from Wyoming, sorry, but I won't say where. Not being a prick, just want Wyoming shooters to have the ammo they need when they need it.

I was at a gun show here in VA the other day and they were selling 380 for a dollar a bullet and they were selling out. No one seems to have any visibility when more is going to be available since the manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand in 9mm and 40 S&W.

Will Reload More - When Primers Come In

Well, I haven't seen any .380 ammo at Walmart for six months or so, same story with bulk packed .22 (thank you, new administration :fire:)

So I'm about ready to reload mine.... with the last of my small pistol primers..:cuss: and Lord only knows when we'll see THOSE. :banghead:
