As mentioned , I did a bunch of testing with 3" 410 buckshot loads. They will work just fine for personal/home defense. Depending on the manufacturers, the 5 pellets from a 3" 410 buckshot load are still traveling at the same fps as 9 pellets out of a 2 3/4"12 gauge buckshot load. And one won't notice much difference at home defense ranges between the two.
Yeah but there's plenty of less fortunate people that may only be able to afford to run a 410 that they inheared.

Or that one is disabled and can't handle shooting a 12 gauge. My wife is one. She is pretty short and has MS, there is no way she can comfortably shoot a 12 gauge. She use to use a youth 20 gauge until she was diagnosed with MS, but the 20 is out too.
