Shooting the 625 JM today with 200 gr lswc over 3.7 Clays in .45 auto rim cases. Two hand 25 yards. 30 rounds. All S/A, arthritis in trigger finger is acting up. I threw out all the better targets.....
I've shot a lot of double action the last year or so, trigger finger is getting pretty bad. Might need to learn to shoot left handed for double action.
The sight is from Easyhit.com. You can email [email protected] to order.
Good news - they cost about $10.
Bad news - he can't seem to get them from his supplier. I have 4 on order.
The extended firing pin is really useful when you shoot your gun in competition and want the lightest DA pull you can get.
My 625JM and my 327PC are both set up so that they'll fire 100% with correctly seated Federal primers. Neither gun is dependable with other primers or most factory ammo. If I wanted to use something other than my handloads, I'd just crank the mainspring screw in.
Robctwo,
Have you tried a hot, wet, wash cloth around your trigger finger for 10 minutes or so just before firing? Might loosen things up enough to permit semi-normal control.
The mode 625 in any of its configurations is an excellent revolver. The accuracy along with a great action seems to be a natural with this gun. I love shooting mine on a regular basis.
I put 100 rounds through mine this morning. This is easily the most accurate revolver I own. My load is 5.6 gr 231 under a 200 gr. Berrys plated flat point.
I also had a trigger job just to smooth the action out.
Fine weapons, guys. I wish I had one, but I had to choose between it and a Marlin 1894 in 44 Mag. Went with the 1894, since I've got a Redhawk already.
If I see a used one in my area, I'll probably snap it up pretty quickly and risk my wife's wrath.
I'll try the wash cloth. I got into revolvers big time this year. Learned how to do the trigger jobs, put in spring kits, learned how to shoot double action accurately and wore out my finger, drat.
The 625JM was used on GB. I didn't need it, but didn't have a .45ACP revolver. Had three .45 Colt S&Ws and two Rugers. I think part of my problem is the use of the trigger finger on the mouse. May need a roller ball.
