Well, I finally got my father's original Colt Combat Commander running reliably after a thorough cleaning and deep lubrication. Unfortunately, it's also apparent that it needs a tighter bushing. It's shooting "minute of man" at 20 feet, and I wouldn't trust it to hit a torso at 30. The barrel's fine, and none of the other parts show wear, leaving the bushing as the obvious culprit. So, does anyone know where I can find a bushing that will match its polished stainless steel finish?

leaving the bushing as the obvious culprit.

Does the barrel wiggle around loosely inside the bushing when the gun is locked up? There are other things it could be besides a bushing...

Also, if it is the bushing, you are likely going to need someone to fit an oversize barrel to it. The bushing isn't the only thing that wears (so does the slide and barrel), so dropping in a new one is only going to partially help the problem, not fully correct it.

You may want to ask this in the gunsmithing forum to get better answers.
