What is a gun crime in the UK? If the Bobbies catch a person with a gun that they are not suppose to have is that a crime gun or is it a crime like robbery that was committed with a gun?
 
Guess that biblical saying "What ye sow, so shall ye reap" rings true. :D

Has anyone seen him on this new board.

I havn't seen him on his usual UK board either.

I wonder if he gave up. :D
 
It looks like Agricola has had a grand total of 4 posts (2 were removed) and no threads started.

I can't say that I agree with him most of the time but I do appreciate the civil debate that he's brought to TFL and the insights in seeing subjects discussed with just enough heat to give light and not burn the place down.
 
Well maybe the UK will finally get its head out of its arse soon. Its not even the fact that you can't own a handgun there, but your rights to self defense is severely restricted. Basically you're just supposed to sit there and let yourself be a victim, and if you are a passer-by you aren't supposed to do anything except call the police. Doesn't that just fly in the face of everything logical?

What few friends I have in the UK can't stand this stance the gov't has taken. They aren't even gun buffs, but they feel powerless to protect themselves no matter what. I won't even visit there because I know if I were the would be victim of a mugging, if a gun weren't involved, I damn sure would protect myself or someone else if they needed it.

Searching the firing line under agricolas name is a good way to referance the whole us vs.uk argument. We can post link's to it now on other boards, without the provoking flame wars.

is a well-known and deadly enemy of gun control. She has written several excellent books. Interesting that my library carries Bellesisles but no JLM.
 
There is a Hell, Indiana and it's certainly cold in this state. I'll see if I can't find the Zip...47 something or other...

Agricola is here on THR. I saw a thread earlier today that he'd posted on.

After debating him on a few TFL threads, I doubt that he's ever given up on anything.... :D
 
I believe that Ms. Malcolm is an American. If so, it's rather odd that a Brit paper published her.
 
Having read their comments, I would say that
"THEY REALLY DON'T GET IT".
Pretending that you live in a perfect world
most definitly does not mean that you DO live in one.
I would think that everyone on the Board would be over joyed if there really weren't any violent crime and we had no NEED to be ready to protect ourselves and loved ones.
there has been violence in the world since the fourth person hit earth there is no reason to believe it will stop in today's time.
