My Academy Experience:
I have a real common name. I recently found out there is a 2 time felon with same first, middle and last.
I am always delayed for the 3 business days.(Currently getting CHL)
On 4th business day I go to pick up my .357 and they refuse to release it sighting legalities.
I leave (in a huff) and retrieve copy of state law and return. Now its store policy they do not release guns untill cleared.
I asked to see said policies,which they could not produce.
Got my $$$ back and left.

I wont purchase another gun from them, but the kayak I got was $100 cheaper than Gander Mt

Academy used to be great for ammo, but are just so so now. They still beat the market, I believe.

I bought my 9mm blazer at 3.86/50 and 12 gauge shotgun ammo for around 2.25/25 a year and a half ago.

EVERYBODY was cheaper a year ago! All metal values have gone through the roof. It's trickling down from the building industry to cars to guns (!!!) to ammo. I posted elsewhere that Ruger took a 8% hike on June 1. It's because of the rise in metals! And, I understand it's only going to get worse before it gets better.
