Going now to break my wrist so it fits. I love my 26 but wouldnt mind something a little thinner.

What are they, 1/16th inch glass?

It's superior build quality and accuracy are just additional benefits. It's very smooth trigger is very easy to learn, while giving plenty of tactile feedback to make a thumb safety redundant

I believe that, over the last couple of years I've come to really like DA triggers, they help to focus you on the front sight in a way that no other action does, since you know ahead of time you need to pay attention and keep the front sight steady while pulling, you don't yank the trigger as often.

I'm definitely down with the DA now. They make you a better shooter as long as you don't ignore the input they give you.

Don't know if it's been mentioned and I'm sure it'll catch some bashing but I love mine to death, try out a Taurus pt145, you may be pleasantly surprised

I feel confident enough to hit a golf ball (1.68") at 15 yards with my Springfield Ultra Compact (3.5" barrel) Points naturally. is just a SWEET gun all in all.

Ok this is where I am. I have narrowed my list yet still open to suggestions to
1. Glock 30. accurtate, dependable, though not crazy about Im familiar with Glocks. I have one I can buy for $500.00 cash less than 50 rounds. Only downside is its fat.
1.5 Glock 36 I like it not sure though. Again heard mixed reviews. I dont know what one would cost but havent found one used.
2.Kahr CW45 Ive found one for $425 + tax. It feels good in my hand and is about the size of my 3913. Sorta like the trigger though different. I am worried the tolerances are too close and it may take longer to break in and not sure about their customer service. Ive heard mixed reviews.
3. Citadel compact 1911. Well this would scratch the 1911 and the 45 bug at once. Ive never really shot but there must be something to it. I have found one on sale for I think $385+shipping + tax. Seems like a good deal for an entry level 1911. Downside I cant feel one untill I order. I figure the Rock Island would feel about the same. It feels good a little heavy but I guess thats a trade.
4. I havent ruled out the M&P45c wish I could hold one. I am afraid its gonna be long in the grip and allow to print.

Nothing against the 1911 single action pistol, but it's not a good idea for someone that doesn't practice with it often.

One word of advice: If you decide on a pistol with a manual safety lever, practice often. Practice flicking the safety off and firing until it is an automatic reflex. Do it the same way every time you shoot. Practice it until it becomes a natural movement.

If the S hits the fan and your mind goes blank (it will) you will not even remember that your gun has a safety. Make sure your subconscious has been well trained to take over for you in that instant. Your life could depend on it.

I understand well. I probably practice more than average. For the first 10 years I carried my 3913 I carried saftey on. I never had an issue but then again it was normally a paper pli alsoate that was attacking me. Its something to keep in mind. Alsoo I don't rotate carry much if I carried the 1911. I would carry mainly the 1911.

Glock 36...costs the same as any other Glock, the bad reviews are of the older guns (the G36 suffered some growing pains, but these problems have long been resolved, get a new one and be happy)

Thinner than a 1911

Short barrel (3.78")

Short grip

VERY accurate (once you get used to the trigger)

Here is mine...it now wears Trijicon GL 12 night sights

I used to carry this...I still have it, and will NEVER sell it, but its days as a CCW pistol are over.

The little G36 is a dream to carry...that is a plain and simple fact!

45 suggestion

"I held a CW45 the other day. It felt really good in my hand and was almost identical in size to my 3913."

Since you already have the 3913, why not go with the 4513 or its cousin the 457? I have both and never have had a hiccup or issue with them.

I will admit the PT145 has me interested every time I pick one up :what:

SA Champion, I do not know what the sell for now but I paid under $600 for mine OTD. My favorite 1911 style pistol.

For myself, the Colt Officers Model has been my favorite short barreled .45. A friend of mine has an older Taurus PT-145 and has never had a problem with it. It has been his primary carry gun for the last 5 years.

I think you'd be very happy with the Kahr. I had one FTF in the first 100 rounds. None since. I have several .45's. The Kahr has less felt recoil than any of them. Bouncing a gallon jug at 50 yards is easy. Don't know about customer service. I haven't needed it.

I've been looking at and firing compacts for the past three months and at this point the S&W M&P45c is at the top of my list.
