I'm interested in getting a .308 AK clone someday. I like the siderail scope mounting options, too; a LOT of good scopes out there at good prices.

QUESTION: I'm left handed. Are these Russian scopes centered over the bore (or close enough to it) so that you can use them when firing from the left shoulder? I'm referring to the PSO type scopes that you see everywhere (I've really got a hankering for a .308 VEPR with a PSO 8x42mm with the visible laser attached to it...)

So. Can us lefties use these Russian optics on VEPRs, Saigas, Romak-3s, etc? Thanks!

yup. i'm left handed and haven't had any trouble using any of the optics avaliable for the AK side rail series except for the PK-AS which is mounted on the left side on does not reach over the reciever cover. other than that the scopes that feature and integral rail work fine for me (PK-01V, EKP Kobra series, PSO series.)

The UltiMAK-style accessory rail that replaces the upper gas tube assembly is centered on the rifle's axis, if you are looking at a red-dot or scout scope.
