Alabama background check

I ordered my first pistol online last week. I talked to the local dealer that will be doing the transfer for me. They say I have to fill out a form for the background check.

Do I have to wait a few days after the background check before I can pick up my pistol? If so, I'll just go in today or tomorrow and take care of that.

You will fill out a form 4473. The dealer will call the insta-check folks for approval/denial at the time of sale. You (if approved)will take the gun home with you. Alabama has no waiting period for firearms purchases. FYI,<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Form_4473> Enjoy your new firearm.
