Let me start off by saying that I'm not new to the reloading, but have come across I have yet to see.
I'm working on a new load for my daughters rifle, so she can shoot F-Class with me. It's a .243 Win. I plan to use 87gr v-max over 4000-MR.
However, when I look at Alliants website like I normally do, I see they show max at 45.5gr for the 85gr bullet (Speer I believe). When I look in the Hornady 9th edition manual (85gr-87gr bullets), it shows 47.2gr. Both show for 3300fps (not really concerned about this part.
This is the first time I've run across this where the manual was actually higher than the powder manufacture.
Anyone have experience with this powder. How it acts, etc?
My daughter will be shooting these loads, main reason for taking precautions. I have also emailed both Hornady and Alliant for verification. TIA
