wish i can buy all right now.

i'm leaning toward the PSL since it looks cooler plus both rounds seem equal too... never shot any of these before so I don't know. A good choice?

The Romy is ok, just remember that 7.62x54 won't be cheap forever.
The 06 you can get almost anywhere,like rural hardware stores and the like.

The PSL looks very cool, and the 7.62x54R is a fine round, but I've heard some very bad things about its accuracy and durability. Otherwise I would have bought one long ago.

Having owned a PSL, for a hunting gun the Remington is the better choice IMHO.

If you want a semi-auto hunting rifle then I would say forget the PSL and buy an AR-10, it will be much more accurate than the PSL.

While I can't speak for all PSL's, mine will only do a little over 1.5MOA using 7N1- up from about 3MOA using regular mil-surp. I suppose that's good enough to hit a deer in the vitals out to a point, but my cheap inline muzzleloader does better than that.

Go with the 700 in .30-06. It's more accurate (mine does about .75MOA average), has fewer parts to wear out (although my PSL still hasn't and I got it back when they were still $450 ), and ammunition will probably be availible at almost any store you'd happen to visit.

I'm sure you could find a way...

Damn...I have a new sig line. I think so. I know you can get the scopes made for the Tigre or whatever it is, and it's calibrated for 7.62x54R drop.

Need far more details.. WHICH Rem 700? new or used? When in doubt, get a turnbolt, since it's more useful and the AKs will get cheaper in a couple of months.

Yep, just do a search on gunbroker or better yet someplace that specializes in com bloc optics/accessories. I picked one up for my WASR about two years ago and it went about $35.

The side mounts on an AK and PSL are different so you'd have to find one that would fit a PSL/ROMAK.

Your best bet would be to keep an eye on the classifieds section here or 24hourcampfire, etc. That is if you opt for the Remington, might get flammed a little bit but I don't care much for the new Remingtons, unless it's from their custom shop.
