I've been down this road before, so I know what works.... and what doesn't.
Those in the firearms community have every right to be outraged about some of the stunts that the anti-gun mainstream media pull off. But pouting or blustering on our part won't discourage them. In fact it will encourage them too do some more.
The effective way is to attack their interests. In other words make problems for them - and complaining to the BATF&E or sending the network a hot-worded letter won't do it.
Filing complaints with the FCC is something they really don't want, nor does the idea of upsetting advertisers give them a warm and fuzzy feeling either.
BUT TO BE AFFECTIVE OUR RESPONCE MUST BE ACCURATE, FACTUAL, AND WELL DOCUMENTED!
That's why it is important that we take enough time to get our ducks in a row, and our facts straight - and hopefully documented. Otherwise it is simply our opinion vs. their opinion – and that won't cut the mustard.
During the coming days, the information everyone needs will be collected and posted on this and other forums. After that everyone will have what they need to make a good impression, and hurt um' where it hurts.
Right now the best plan is to hold off until everything is better organized.
