ok so my mom's always been really caring and supportive over the years and I thought "well I dont know s**t about flowers and unicorns and other girly crap so why not get her a gun?

she expressed interest in my shorty bushmaster M4gery last time we went shooting so I thought I might throw together another one using some of my parts from previous experiments

here's the ideal

features

"16 barrel (for light weight and small size)
collapsable stock (for adjustability since she has short arms)
A2 sights (easy for her to zero in)

.223 or .22 LR . She didn't seem to have any trouble with the .233 round as far as recoil but considered .22 LR because she has a lot of .22 ammo for her walther p22 pistol. Then again, maybe it's time to move up.

here's what i've found so far. tell me what you guys think

galati XM-177 upper

$329.95
-cheap short and light.

Tapco T6 synthetic collapsible stock
$59.99
-light and adjustable

Sarco stag arms"loaded" receiver with all internals/ hinge pins
$129.95
-the last stag arms receiver I built worked so great, I'd like to put another one together. not as tight as my bushmaster receiver but still good for the money.

grips and other parts I already have in my parts cache.

how does this sound?

$519.89 + shipping

Sounds Great!!!!! What better way to show mom you really care than with an evil assault rifle. :D Plus get a picture of her holding it and make em into Christmas greeting cards. All the relatives should love it.

get it in .223. i heard the .22lr has some reliability issues.

Perfect man-logic. Absolutely classic. Gotta use that one. Bwaaahahaha! ;) :D

:D

I bought my wife a brand new Kahr MK9 for her birthday once... It was by FAR the most expensive gift I have ever given her (besides that damn engagement ring that cost me a JEEP!). Every time I tell someone else, they ALWAYS go "you bought your wife a GUN for her BIRTHDAY?!" I always respond with "well, it was better than the vaccuum cleaner I got her for Christmas" ;)

I also bought my mom a pistol once... Rossi .38 snub. She seemed happy.

Gun for a girlfriend.

My girlfriend always goes out plinking with me. She really enjoys shooting those .38 spls through my S&W Model 10, and said one day she would like one of her own. So seeing the perfect opportunity to spring into action, I bought her a S&W Model 10 of her very own. It's got that bbl and nickel finish. She just loves it. Can't go wrong with a Model 10. Now she's been eyeing my S&W 1911.

As long as it's a happy woman, I have no problem giving her a gun. :)

Sounds good, but go .223 for your mom. She can always use it for self defense. Haven't you rented any of those zombie movies for her?

How about the one at the top?

Never heard of the upper . Skip the Tapco stock . Better stocks for less cash out there .

And yea why not go Cav pink?

Barb loved her Barbie 15 so much she wants me to build her a carbine now in pink .

Either go to AR15.com and search thru the EE . I saw some one get a Bushy take off M4 stock for $10 a whil eback . Or personaly just skip that and go to Bravocompany.com and have Paul hook you up .

You shoot with your Mom?

Get her an Ak-74 in 5.45x39 instead. You'll want her to stand out at the range and be the envy of her bridge club.
