Any thoughts on the Remington 11-48?

I'm looking at perhaps buying a Remington 11-48 in 28 gauge.

Any thoughts on the 11-48?

Strengths?

Weaknesses?

Pitfalls?

A guy I knew once bought one in 20 gauge for his wife.
I thought it looked like a neat gun and wished I'd seen it first.

Good shotguns, sometimes the forearm wood cracks, but the hardware is of good design, materials and execution.

Many of these are veteran campaigners of the Skeet Wars, and have seen much service.

If in good shape and the price is right, get it....

I have one in 16 guage with a skeet barrel on it. It shoots good and is reliable. Recoil is lighter than typical. It is medium on the PITA scale to strip and clean. It cycles slower than any other autoloading shotgun I have ever shot, but it is PLENTY fast for skeet. They are well built and should last a long time even under heavy use.
