Anybody with a Beretta Neos .22lr pistol?

I picked up one of these today for a lot of different reasons.

1. Cheap fun plinking.
2. It was cheaper than some of the other semi-auto .22lr pistols.
3. I am not a good pistol shot and I need some cheap practice in technique.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase but my only complaint is a stiff trigger. My question is can I do anything to improve the trigger in it or will the stiffness slowly work its way out after putting some rounds thru it? Or am I just out of luck thats how they are in the Neos and I just have to get used to it?
Thanks in advance surely someone out there knows a little about these.

It'll get a bit better with use. There was a web tutorial with photos on doing a simple trigger job. Google Beretta Neos Trigger or something like that.

It should wear in after a couple hundred rounds or so, as that is pretty common with a lot of guns. It won't be a magical transformation as much as it will just gradually get smoother as you shoot it more. Now, as to how good the trigger can ultimately be? No idea. I know it will wear in, but I have no idea how good or bad it will be at the end of that process.

Never got to try out the trigger; the wierd grip angle and feel kept me from buying the pistol; one of the few beretta's I don't and wouldn't own.

I have put a few thousand rounds through mine, and the trigger smooths out to a nice, crisp break eventually. Mine actually reminds me of a light 1911 trigger with a bit more over travel. Good gun overall, just realize that the rear sight will periodically need adjusting for elevation as the nut loosens over time. Enjoy your new toy, I enjoy mine!

I have about 1200rds thru mine and the trigger has gotten better. I have a TRUGLO Red/Green Dot on it and after zeroing it out it is really fun to shoot. I have these star field (4 stars wide by 6 stars down on a 8x11) targets that are a bitch to shoot but its very fun with the Neos.

Beretta Neos, mechanically.........a copy of the old High Standard Duramatic from a generation or two ago.

Good little guns. Mine took care of several varmints around the farm including the occasional squirrel. I never missed, but I wanted that new HD shotty a bit more....

I started bullseye with one,

the best score I ever did with it was a 277 (I believe) with a red dot. I switched to a Hammerli and now in the 290's

Trigger job war easy and fun. I had to do some modifying to the frame above the web of my hand. Was getting a bunch of chafing like too tight of underware!

Lost the rear sight adjustment screw the first time out but Beretta sent a new one out fast. As worked flawlessly since then, only about 700 rounds through now. Didn't really mess with the trigger too much but did look at the tutorials. Like it and it fits my girlfriends hand well.

If it aint broke don't fix it, at least yet.

Just shoot it for now, and learn good trigger control, it will make you a better shooter in the long run.

I enjoy mine. It's a nice solid plinker. Decent in accuracy, reliability departments and price is right. I like the "light on travel, heavy on the break" trigger. It's similar to my favor 9mm BHP. Very easy to filed strip and detail strip.

At the time of my purchase, I was decide between Ruger 22/45 or Neos and I choose Neos for everyone and their mom owns a Ruger.

I can't really complain about the trigger on mine, I like it. The ergonomics are good for me, and the field strip procedure is far better than a ruger's. Ive probably put 1500 rounds through it and only had issues with one type of ammo. I put a red dot on it, but actually tend to shoot it more without, its just more fun with the irons.

Except that the barrel nut lock can be a bit of a hazard. I must have cut myself on that thing about a half dozen times when I had my NEOS. Excellent little pistol though, wish I'd kept it. Might try to track down a deluxe model someday.

I have the 4.5" version and love it.

Like most guns, it isn't perfect. The safety digs into your hand when set to safe, and the extractors are notorious for breaking early (better to buy a replacement slide when that happens).

OTOH it's cheap to buy, mine has been very reliable, much more so than the crappy ruger Mk.II it replaced, and with spare mags still available for $9.99 it all adds up to a great little package.

Now if Beretta would just get that 5 year overdue carbine kit out to us consumers it would be even better........

I bought one for my son. He thought it was kewl looking. It is a nice, reliable fun plinker. I would not put it in the same class as the Ruger MKII, which is a better built and more accruate gun. IMHO.
