I bought this as a unbuilt kit at an auction around 10 years ago. Just in the Styrofoam and no instructions. Nothing was built or started and the brass trigger guard was broke at the screw hole on the grip which I had braised). Turned out to be a neat pistol with a belt hook but for the life of me I haven't found another one like it in any of my searches. I've built CVA's before and this one does have Junkar and Spain on the side but again, nothing comes up on a search. Any ideas? Thanks. fl1.jpg fl1.jpg fl3.jpg

It looks pretty close to resembling a Harper's Ferry Model 1805 to me, because of the shape of the grip, stock & trigger guard.
Plus the fact that it has a grip cap.--->>> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harper's_Ferry_Model_1805

While many reproductions of it are made in .58 and rifled, the originals were smooth bore .54's and called Horseman's Pistols.
That model is used on the US Army Military Police Corps. insignia.

Here's a Pedersoli reproduction in .58:--->>> https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/pede...l-flintlock-black-powder-pistol-s-320-58.html

Does yours have a rifled barrel?
How long is the barrel?
What caliber is it?

It's a beautiful Jukar!

It is similar to Jukar and Naval Flintlock pistols in several online listings, but I cannot find anything with the same features, especially that belt hook. A very nice-looking pistol, to be sure!

CVA used to import a lot of stuff from Spain with "Jukar" stamped on the barrels. The odd thing is the fully round barrel, as I didn't think CVA imported anything in pistols that wasn't octagonal. The lock is rather fancy too. Might be a very old "wall hanger" that was kept in good shape, imported by Dixie Gun Works. Might have been a movie prop, even with the shootable barrel.

No, it was an unbuilt kit in the Styrofoam packaging but no lid or instructions when I bought it at the auction. The trigger guard was broken at the hand grip screw which I think turned them off on it. Easy enough fix once you find someone who can braise. The rifled bore is just over 44, enough to use a patch on the ball and I've fired it and it shoots well if not so accurate (only has front sight, no rear) The flash whole in the barrel is removable and made of German silver. Everything about it seems to show that it is a high quality item. I did all the searches too and although I found a lot of similar ones, I've not found anything exactly like it.

That may be the ticket there. Only major diff is the missing brass on the front of the stock (and there was none in the kit). The stock provided did not have the extra length to mount it too either but based on the broken trigger guard, who knows, they may have damage it to and just removed it, got frustrated and put it away for a few decades. It does however, seem as mine has the more ornate lock. I googled them and looked at images and they either had a plainer one or one like mine. Also the few that sold went for pretty decent money. I paid $25 for this one. A few years earlier I payed $30 for the CVA derringer kit and built it too but it doesn't' compare to this one.

Pretty sure you completed a project started by another. I like the look without the brass nose cap, and the beaver tail carving on the wood behind the lock plate. Definitely unique.

Miroku exported some kit pistols, I've seen a few that were fairly ornate,CVA used to buy from anyone that met their quality standards, Miroku could, although their quality went from bad to excellent. DGW used a lot of Miroku parts, locks, triggers etc..

Yeah, it could be a factory modification of the CVA Tower Pistol above, the one with the red box, as the trigger guard, and the brass hardware on the end of the stock are the same. The box picture shows the flintlock that matches mine, the built one is percussion. So, maybe to change things up a bit ang get more mileage from an old kit, the did one like mine, or vice versa.
