@ GORDY:
I think I got one of those knives at a flea market when I was ten or so. They had them in black and in camo. Had a couple waterproof matches, a cheesy cable saw, a couple fishhooks and some fishing line, and a couple cheap bandaids in the handle under the compass- that never worked right. Whatever steel they used didn't take an edge either. Whaddaya want for $8?
Are Sigs worth the money- that depends. I like Sigs, I've shot them for over 15 years and I like and prefer the DA.SA with decocker operation. I like the feel and weight of a Sig better than apolymer gun with the exception of teh Springfield XD feels good to me too. I carry my Sigs and prefer the single-stack designs- the P220, P225 and P239 are all my regular carries. The weight and size is a good balance in my hands and shooting style. I could go double stack P229/P228 compact in about the same size as a P225 but the gun is heavier with teh extra ammo and doesn't handle as well to me.
Ultimately, what it comes down to is how good a deal can you work for the gun you want. I know I can get LEO trade-in Sigs which are well kept and hardly shot for close to the price of a new M&P or XD so cost isn't a big deal breaker.
