My first two wives (20yr & 3yr - some things shouldn't be 'recycled'!) was a smallish person - 5'3" & 115lb. One Valentine's Day, some time after our second divorce, she was upset at work as I hadn't sent her a card or flowers (Duh?) and came by my apartment. It had a 'security door' - steel - with dead bolts, chain, and strikers & hinges secured to the studs. She kicked it in when I was slow to answer the door (Yeah, I was alone - she knew that!)... it knocked me to the floor. The local gendarmes offered to give her a room for the night, but I stupidly refused to press charges. It cost me big time to fix that door. Mute testimony to the power of Prozac, too. I don't think a large man would have too much problem with a big security door. Maybe some 'reactive armor' on the security door would be a better idea...
I am back to carrying now - a 642 & Mikas pocket holsterhelped there, as my 296 only fit selected pockets. I just cannot see myself planting firearms everywhere around the house. Of course, it has been a while since the last 'home invasion' in these parts. I guess I'll just remain complacent.
