Barrel swaps?

I hsve a model M550Ad just like the Mossy 500 in the takedown article. Is it possible to swap current Mossberg barrels with these older Mossbergs?
I'd like to add a 26" bbl in place of my 19" HD barrel for hunting.

Western Field M550AD? It's the Mossberg 500 rebranded for Montgomery Ward. Any of the 500 barrels will fit except the one that fits the security model with the 8 round magazine.
