Mossberg 500 barrels

Is there any changes in the barrels over the life of the Mossberg 500 models? I won a early model 500 with a 30" full choke barrel lasr night for cheap cheap cheap. I ws thinking about puting a 18.5" HD barrel on it and setting this up of HD.

Just trying to figure out if all barrels are interchangeable. Who sells the best Mossy accessories?

As far as I know...any 500 barrel should fit. You can get an 18.5" IC from Mossberg for about $70. or so .

Yup, barrels should interchange.

Any of the mossberg 500 barrel's should fit it. I don't think they have changed anything in the way the barrels fit. I'd just make sure it fits the right length magazine.

The 500 series barrels will interchange within guage and magazine capacity. Case in point...me.....
My Maverick 88 had a 28" Mod choke barrel. Bought the 18-1/2" Mossberg branded barrel and installed. After cleaning, etc. I installed the original Maverick Barrel on the 1960's vintage Mossy 500 I inherited from my late father-in-law.

That gave me the capability of using 3" shells in the older Mossy, and it can be used with the "Unleaded" ammo required for waterfowling. (The nice folks at Havlin Sales/Mossberg Collectors Association told me that with the barrel swap, the older Mossy 500 receiver would work with the 3" ammo)
