Has anyone had any trouble with the Bersa internal lock system?

I really like Bersa's guns, and have 2 no-lock Bersa pistols. I'd like to get another Bersa at some point, but the ILS turns me off of the new ones.

I didn't find much info on BersaTalk, so I guess that's a good thing. Anyone know if these have been problematic in any way? Reports of them locking themselves, etc? Thanks.

I threw away the key on my Bersa. It was never used.

I've shot 1000+ rounds. No problems of any kind.

FWIW. During the initial cleaning of my Bersa, I took off the grip panels. The spring that activates the magazine safety mysteriously flew off and got lost in the carpet.

My Bersa runs just fine.

My wife has a FS-22. The keys are around here somewhere. The day she got it, she locked it..unlocked it...said "That's nice" and never fooled with it again.

I don't know how many thousands of rounds she's run through that little gun but the lock has never been a problem. I'll bet she's forgotten it's there.

I locked and unlocked it a few times when I got a thunder .380 just to try it out, other than I don't use it. I don't shoot the bersa as much as some other guns and Ive got maybe only 450 rounds through it, but I've had no trouble with the lock in that time.

Funny story with the key though. I was at my local Gander Mtn. one day. I know all the guys there, and they joke about how I almost work there, because I have helped answer customers questions on more than one occasion while doing my own browsing/chatting. So a customer had a bersa .380 out of the case, and he asked to try out the lock function. The staff said, "Oh boy, ok but the key is in the gun's box in the stockroom, we'll have to find it". I spun around and produced the key on my keyring and said "Here, use mine" .. That of course sparked a lot more jokes about how I was an unofficial employee.

no problems with mine

the .380 is one of the best little guns on the market IMHO. I don't know where my key is to this accurate reliable little wonder.
