any suggestions? I'm a .45 guy, but fell in love with the G19, and now need suggestions....

Also, if anyone has IWB holster and mag carrier prefs, let me know...

welcome to thr,
I always tell people to try various loads and offerings from the major players in defensive ammo. Ie hornaday, thier tap ammo is very nice, consistent, reliable and accurate, also check remington golden sabers, winchester sxt, winchester ranger, speer gold dots etc. these are some good places to start, personally i would look into the 115 and 124gr+p varietites.

you should get a box of each at least and see that they are reliable, accurate and that you are able to control them shootable to your skill level. which ever one performs the best then i would say go with that. really sd ammo is like buying a gun, you need what works best for you, as well you need what works/ shoots best in your gun.

as far as iwb holsters, check out grandfather oak holsters, they are nice and i have one for my xd sc. there are many other great ones out there, and i am sure that you are gonna get more imput about them form other members. Blad tech is a great place to look as well they make top quality holsters, i have alot of experience with thier products just not thier iwb holsters, but there are many people that have them and carry em.

thanks guys, and thanks possum for the welcome. I've been around awhile, but am just getting to post....

I like, have had good luck with and carry: Winchester Ranger 127gr. +P+ CCI/Speer Gold Dot 124gr. +P and Federal HST 124gr. +P

I have 147+P HST in my CZ PCR (3.9" barrel), HST is what I also carry in my FNP9-M, Glock 27 (.40), and USP (also .40).

HST is good stuff. I generally prefer 147 gr. for 9mm, but there are some loads like the Ranger +P+ that would be good (never had 'em and probably can't get 'em outside of my department, but what do I know...), Gold Dot 124 gr. +P, and the only 115 gr. I would buy is the Corbon DPX.

Welcome... looks like you have a good excuse to go out and buy a few different kinds. Then head to the range to see what works best for you in your gun.

I use Golden Saber in a 124gr +P for my Glock 26 because it is the most accurate out of my gun. I have also used 124g+P Gold Dots, and even el cheapo 147g Win White Box PP. For defensive use, pretty much any modern expanding ammo in 124 gr or 147 gr will kill the bad guy just as dead as the rest.

As long as it goes BANG each and every time you pull the trigger, you should be fine.

excellent. I found some good prices for HST and the others at ammunitiontogo.com, so will try three or four brands out before I settle on one. Thanks fellas!
