What are some of the pistols known to have a good DA trigger pull? Specifically looking at sub-compact 9mm's such as the Glock 26.....

At risk of sounding redundant (I have mentioned my love for this one in two other threads already today :D), Walther PPS. For me, it's hands down the best trigger on a subcompact striker fired gun. I like the triggers on Kahrs as well, but I don't think they hold up to the PPS.

Well, for starters. It isn't a Glock! I'd say a Sig 229 would be my fav. I know it's not a Sub-compact though. I'd say a HK P2000SK would pretty fine.

Although it has elements of double action operation, the Glock trigger isn't really a double action in feel or length of pull. Among compact autos with "long stroke" DA or DAO triggers, I would regard the Kahr as the lightest and smoothest, followed by the metal frame S&W "Third Generations" (these can be had in DA/SA or DAO).

Cz Vz. 82.
The military surplus version of the Cz 83. Every example I have had the pleasure of examining (including my own) has had an extremely smooth DA trigger pull. The 83 on the other hand does not have such a smooth trigger out of the box, but it can be made equally as good. they are more of a compact size though. The grip is about the same size as the cz-75B compact grip, although the top end is quite a bit smaller.

Check out the CZ 2075 RAMI as well. They are the size you want, their triggers can be made very smooth, and they come in both polymer and alloy frames, manual safety and decocker models.

I kinda like CZ's...

They are not mushy at all, unless you like bottom end models.

the last one i had a chance to shoot extensively was a TSW model. and while it was better than a 669 or 4006 i tried a while back, i didn't think it compared well with a regular Sig 226ST much less a DAK model.

have you tried a Sig DAK?

that's what i was going to say. my cheap ass milsurp cz-82 has a freakin sweet DA trigger pull, nicer than the DA trigger pull of my sig 226.

No. I has several ST's as well as the older W. German 226 flavors. The newer guns have smoother triggers, but not as good as S&W whose design is simply better. The double-sided trigger bar does not flex, and the pull feels more positive. If you take a S&W apart, you'll find it pretty complicated. If one of these parts isn't fitted correctly, it will impart drag and binding and will spoil the pull. The S&W's I had all had smooth pulls, especially the older guns with the chrome plated components.

HK P2000SK LEM

If you can, grab a Sig with DAK, try it, and then immediately try the HK with LEM. Then make your decision.

might i suggest you try a Sig DAK trigger as a point of comparison.

the DAK's trigger feel is very comparable to a S&W revolver's trigger...i don't think i'd say that about the DA trigger of any S&W pistol. i don't think even S&W engineers would make that claim

Because the hammer and trigger start their rearward travel from one-third cock, the CZ PCR and P-01 have short and smooth initial DA pulls. Subsequent shots are SA, of course.

A modified Glock trigger or a Glockworx Fulcrum trigger is the most effective trigger for me. Fast and accurate, but not smooth or classy feeling.

Kahr for smooth, but a bit slow compared to a Glock.

My SIG P226 has the best double-action pull of any auto I've personally tried. It has the short trigger if that makes any difference.
