Best state for gun freedom

"quote"Are there any further restrictions on guns and CCW in those four blue counties in Florida??? I don't want to step into a liberal poop once I move there

not really,if you dont have a concealed carry you have to wait 5 days to claim a purchase but other than that there are no particular bans or restrictions. Its true that politically Broward and Palm are liberal, and some of Dade but it really shoud'nt have an effect on your lifestyle...if I were to stay in the Southeast Id pick Broward above them all.

You might as well move to one of the larger cities in Florida. Everyone else seems to help themselves to my watersupply :neener: Atlanta would be my second choice

Born and raised Florida Cracker right here:D

lol! buzztail, one thing I might be worried about is sinkholes..just how common of a problem is that towards the central-upper part of the state?Done a little research and I see that sinkhole insurance is a seperate policy?

NO no no

EVERYBODY move to California and we'll take it over!

Move here about 100 days before the election in November. Or, whatever it takes to be able to vote in the election.

We'll vote Arnold back in as Governator and then start volting out the liberal California Democrats (extra PC liberal and not to be confused with Democrats in the rest of the USA). Starting with two un-named senators.

We need the help - escp. since there is a rumor that Fienstein may be retiring. Think what could happen if we get a pro-gun senator in Cal.

Remember, we have the best weather in the country!

OK is not bad, we got a D-, pretty good! :D

We even got a demerit.

"First state in nation to pass a law to force businesses to allow guns in the workplace via cars in company parking lots."

:p

A few people have recommended Atlanta, but I would not.

The Georgia Firearm License is actually very limited. There are a lot of places where you cannot legally carry a gun, including places that serve alcohol (including restaurants), Churches, public buildings, sporting events, and anything else that is considered a "public gathering".

Atlanta also suffers greatly from urban sprawl. Hour or longer commutes are common. Housing costs are higher than most other cities in the south. Malls and other public places are swamped with Democrats. There are just better big cities in which to live.

Florida has some good choices... But I would not go further south in Florida than Orlando.

The move is not an issue for me. I'm willing to relocate whereever it takes to life free! Please be so kind and give me a sound advice. What states have castle doctrine or simillar laws? How about the ease of CCW? BTW, Vermont and Alaska are I think out of the question

No fish for you, then!

Vote Schwarzanegger back into power? Are you serious? He supports the AWB and a whole bunch of gun control. After Reagon screwed up the state with his guns are bad approach I thought people would learn.

Alaska is of course the place to go for gun rights. Anchorage is really nice for them, but you got to cope with the cold but summers are nice indeed. Vermont is fairly nice as are some of the other out of the way states.

I did like Florida introducing a law prohibit the governor from ordering the seizure of firearms during a state of emergency or natural disaster. Not like he will obey it though, and has made his views quite clear when he said keeping weapons during an emergency when police say its unsafe that its lunacy and should have their firearms taken away. Bush always seemed to me to be more concerned with US firearms manufacturers making money and of course his shares in such companies and getting enough votes to be re-elected. His brother is even worse and annoyed me with that ban on the import of military rifles and recievers.

Illinois got an A-. Nobody can own a gun or possess a gun without a FOID card. And cities can ban guns like Chicago did.

It sucks! Lawfull citizens are not the problem, it is the criminals who are the problem. What good will banning guns from lawful citizens do? The criminals will still have guns.

I bought a new 1911 two weeks ago - walked out of the gun shop with it in 20 minutes. My buddy who lives in Minnesota says it takes two freaking weeks to buy a handgun up there.
:uhoh: Tell him it helps if he's not a felon and quits beating his wife. That should make the process a lot easier.

Gotta love the misinformation age.

I would look into these states that have large cities and liberal gun laws.

As mentioned:

Texas
Central or Northern Flordia.
Georgia
North Carolina
South Carolina
Virgina
Penn
Washington
Oregon
Colorado
Arizona.

Fish? I've got fish in the bay about a hundred yards from my front door. Got two boat ramps less than a mile either direction. Fish ain't a problem in Texas, though our flat fish are flounders. We have bigger other stuff, though.

Can I just say "HA!"

Thank you

Everyone I've met from a lower 48 "fishing state" from the Gulf to the Mid-West has been BLOWN AWAY by this place. PWS is so choked with fish they're attacking your line down and back. I've even had giant starfish attack my line. The rivers have one salmon run after another plus fantastic cold water trout. The lakes are full of fish, and none of them are soft or mushy like lower 48 lake fish.

In about two hours of fishing we brought it Halibut with a retail value of about $1,700 dollars. If we'd gone out a week later we could have added another thousand dollars worth of silvers and ling cod. Bass, catfish and flounders? HA!

Check out Az. Phoenix is a pretty big city and is gun friendly for the most part. We got a D from the Brady guys. Az is a great state to live in. It might be hot in the summer ( in the desert areas ) but I will take hot weather for a few months over high humidity, earthquakes, hurricannes, tornados, and blizzards, any day of the week.

progrunner1957 I bought a new 1911 two weeks ago - walked out of the gun shop with it in 20 minutes. My buddy who lives in Minnesota says it takes two freaking weeks to buy a handgun up there.

Well your friend in MN must be ill informed. Yeah you have to have permit to purchase, which usually takes few days to get or a CWP holder to buy handguns and EBR's. But, common he is pulling your leg!
God do not you love how the internet is such reliable source of disinformation!

Phoenix metropolitan area, Arizona.

Great laws, great economy, and plenty of open space nearby.

The answer to the original question..................

ALASKA!

I live right on a cove on the Pacific side of the AK Pen. Litterally out my from door I have access to 4 species of Pacific salmon, halibut, grey cod, butter clams the size of your fist, and dungeness crab up around the point.

I can also hit up a few of the local commercial fishermen for targeted species or by-catch if I'm lazy.

But you won't like it up here. It's too cold, dark and isolated. I think you should stay where you're at.:D
