Well today I came across a gently used 3" GP-100 that DAO and has C.I.A. stamped in the side frame. The hammer is spurless and even though there is about a 1/4" square patch on top of the hammer that is checkered, it will not cock single action. The gun has a pretty good trigger, tight cylinder endplay and has a few blemishes in the stainless finish. The front sight is pinned in and a little loose with a fixed rear sight......so what do you think and what have I got here???? Is this a special run or something????

I'll get some pictures out later this weekend.

You may have a Ruger export that was made for some foreign police agency. The CIA in the frame is Century Arms Intl as they had to have the importer stamp on it as they brought it back to the US.

Edumacated guess is that is an ex-Canadian Police revolver.
The trigger cock only feature can be easily changed to double action by replacing the trigger/sear and hammer assemblies with factory double action parts.
Any local gunsmith worth his salt can do the change over for you and the cost should not be excessive.

Sending the gun back to Ruger with a request for a double action capability may get the work done for shipping costs alone.HTH

They were selling these awhile back for $220 - nothing special.

In the last couple SOG flyers they have them on the back page - I suspect these are Century Arms import guns as well, most of the guns I get from SOG are marked CAI. Price is still the same.

I picked it up at a local pawn shop/gunstore. The owner found it in an estate sale and decided to pick it up. I was walking in to buy some ammo from him and he was placing it into the showcase. I asked to see it and made him an offer. It came home with me. Today I got a chance to take it apart and detail clean it. The inside parts show absolutely no wear, as a matter of fact, the inside of the frame where the trigger assembly locks in had a cosmaline looking suvstance in it. The gun was filled with a fine grit and even the barrel was full of it. It's like the gun had been buried. I cleaned and relubed all parts and now the trigger pull is much better. I took it out and put six rounds through it to function check it. It shot all six rounds of 125gr JHP's, double action, freehand, into a nice tight group of 2" at 10 yards, but about an inch high. Looks like it's gonna be a keeper.

Ichiro, ALOT of stuff doesnt get put on the website......actually I would said MOST doesnt. In a SOG flyer there is atleast double what there is on the website.

I download it in PDF format every month......if you want a copy drop me a PM with your email addy and I will send it to you. Its a little over 4mb.
