Chicago considering calling in National Gaurd

Now, given the parameters of most murder, National Guard on the street corners does not sound like an effective intervention.

Especially if they have to carry unloaded weapons like the NG troops they put on the border. Could be a way to lose National Guardsmen lives and let some M16A2s fall into the hands of the wrong folks.

They do not have to carry unloaded weapons. There were some looters here in Florida that thought that, and they discovered they were mistaken. A guy a work with is a retired Plt Sgt from the guard, and when Andrew hit near Miami, he had ammo.

If (folks are requesting) the National Guard troops to be brought in as a force under state control to maintain order and support the local law-enforcement then this is not an RKBA issue.

If they (are at some point actually called out AND) are ordered to confiscate legally-owned guns or in some other way trample the last shreds (whichever particles they can find) of Chicagoans' 2nd Amendment rights, THEN we have a THR discussion about it.
