I recently purchased a "set" (1st, 2nd and 3rd models) of 2nd generation Colt Dragoons. All made between January of 1980 and February of 1982. All three are new, unfired, in original boxes. Does anyone have any information or idea of the value of these guns?

I also bought the 33rd edition of Blue Book of Gun Values by S.P. Fjestad, but he does not say anything about these guns. He does list them in the book, but only suggests you buy another book (or two), to get more information. I have ordered both the books he suggests, but they won't arrive for a few days.

I have attached pictures of my guns for anyone who cares to view them.

Thanks for any input.

The good news is that those are pretty guns. The bad news is that they are worth less than they cost new, adjusting for inflation.

Well, I don't know what they went for when new, but I figured I really couldn't go wrong for NIB at $333 each. According to some value books I've already doubled my money.

At that price, you did OK. Those guns have been priced at around $800 (with few takers), so $1000 for three is good price and I expect about the realistic value. Not the kind of investment that will make you rich, but a nice set.
