Having decided after my last question that the 7mm08 is to big for coyote hides if I'm really interested in keeping them I've been looking for a AR-15 that is (1) light enough to pack around easy (2) accurate and (3) reliable (in no particular order) and after much elimanation and research I've decided the two rifles in the title are the closest to what I'm looking for.
So basically I just want to know what experiences anybody has with either of them and what one you think would be the better choice for coyotes.

Another thing, the I just called DPMS and they said that the Prairie Panther has a phosphated bolt (and I assume bolt carrrier, too), while the Colt is Chrome lined. So could anyone tell me the differences, advantages and disadvantages to either to type of lining?
Thanks for any info.

Both BCGs are phosphated, the only place a mil-spec BCG is crome lined is where the bolt rides in the carrier, and I would think both are. The chrome lining on the Colt is the chamber and bore, the DPMS has a stainless barrel. Chrome lined barrels are generally less accurate than non chrome lined, but no guarantee either way. Both would be fine rifles but I think the edge would go to the DPMS for your intended purpose.

I'd personally get a Colt 6920 from here for $739 using the make offer feature.

My God. A 6920 with aftermarket funiture for 740 bucks.

I've seen a lot of too-good-to-be-true AR prices recently, but this one might take the cake.
