My LGS favors Stag Arms for their quality. I am leaning in favor of S&W but that is only due to my familiarity with the company's products and support. I have also handled the S&W and like it due to its relatively low weight (6.5 lb vs. 7 for a comparably equipped Stag).
Which of the two would you recommend for an entry level AR? Stag Arms is considerably more expensive. Why? Are other manufacturers worth considering?
Though I am looking for an entry level AR I am not opposed to spending more money provided it's worth it.
Bearing in mind I am considering the M&P Sport II model, not to be confused with the original M&P Sport.
