I just received my order of high-pressure 6.5x55 custom ammo from Conley Precision...I don't reload because I literally have ZERO spare time.

First impressions: uniform OAL, but the brass used is mixed. Strange, but I would have expected at least consistent brass within a single box of $40 ammo.

But -- time will tell. I'm hopeful that this ammo will live up to its reputation.

Range report forthcoming.

Rich,

For $2 a pop ammo, you should have got Lapua brass loaded with either a Lapua 139gr Scenar, or a 142SMK. Would suggest you MAKE the spare time to load for your 6.5x55, as for LR and precision work, it is strictly a handloader's cartridge. I shoot this cartridge at 1k, so I can give you load info on it.

I've bought from Conley Precision and was completely satisfied with the ammo. The accuracy was excellent, it was well packaged and I would buy from them again any time.

There is nothing I would love more.:D

I used to be a serious, serious hand loader. Lapua brass, neck trimming, freebore calculations, weight sorting, etc...but what do you expect, I'm an perfectionist!

Then my employer found this out, and happened to think that a perfectionist was exactly what they wanted. Now I manage about $150,000,000 a year in projects and up to 250 employees.

My family time has suffered badly as a result, but I'm working to get that back in line.

If "First Things First" means $2 a round for hunting ammo that I use maybe 100 rounds of a year, then sign me up. Time with the kids and wife is worth immeasurably more than that....;)
