Wouldn't that mean your not focusing on your front sight?

Yes it would, I don't advocate point shooting but I find a lot of up close stuff becomes target focused but with an open field of view. I see other targets, the gun, whatever. "See what you need to see" is better than dogmatic point shooting or front sight only focus.

I'm new at pistols, but I'm approaching it exactly the same way. Slow perfect practice makes for fast perfect performance.

Good quote, that's pretty much the concept of being fast.
