I Stumbled upon these Colt historical prints and other vintage colt paperwork in an old trunk. Heavy embossed paper and that smell of old books. Kind of neat. Then I did a little poking around on the web and found this site where had this set and sold them at auction.

then I thought, who in the Sam Hill would pay that for paperwork?

Any how. This is what was in the paper folder.

2. Colts Walker Model .44 cal - 1847

Im not a colt guy or a revolver collector but its a neat find of bygone days.

Just happens that I have a set of those too. :)

And sometimes at auctions they go for a pretty good price if the set is complete and in good condition.

Neat looking set of prints. I like the old Colt pamphlet too showing all of their handguns; announcing the New Lightweight Commander Automatic Pistol. That would date it to sometime around the early '50s I believe.

You would be right. Colt sold some of the sets, but I believe that most (of a limited total number) were given away to individuals within the firearms industry as part of a promotion. They are not rare, but scarce in perfect condition.
