Found one at one of my local shops, it'll be out for sale next week. What's a fair price for a good-condition CZ-52 in 7.62x25? I was thinking somewhere between $200 to $260 max.

I just saw a nice one at a shop for $249. It had nice wood grips, a great finish, holster and a box of milsurp ammo. Without all the extras, I have seen them closer to $200.

Saw one last weekend for $179 at a gun show. There were others there for about$200-220.

I've got one myself - got it with my C&R a few years back when they were $99. Personally, I like the gun, and it was worth $99, but I wouldn't buy it for the higher prices.

The 7.62x25 round is harder to find in ammo shops, and being a bottle-neck cartridge, it's harder to reload (plus the CZ-52 throws brass like an Olympic athlete).

When factoring in the other aspects of the gun: limited capacity, more fragile firing pin, single action only, no slide stop release, heel mag release, and the wiggly grips - I just don't see the gun as a good purchase when the price is approaching that of other newer guns.

I really have been holding out hope that a 9mm barrel for one will pop up on an auction site soon. Despite the flaws, I'd probably shoot it a lot more if it weren't for the 7.62x25 ammo.

I believe it really depends on the condition. Is it an original gray park finish or black re-arsenal finish. Does it come with 2 mags and original mil holster.

If original gray finish and looks to be barely issued, with 2 mags, holster, & lanyard, I'd say $300 range.....If black finish and missing any accessories, especially mags $200 range.

Here's my gray finish 52.....I'll try and get a picture up soon of my gray finish, next to my buddies black finish re-arsenal. Need to find 'em first.

BTW....The 52 is a riot to shoot!

I had one and finding the brass was a PITA till I replaced the recoil spring with one from Wolff 18# as i recall, but still threw brass a good 15 ft. The round is nasty, punched a hole thtu a 3# coffee can filled with sand at 15 yds.

"3 inch"?
You're shooting Mauser ammo or something, mine makes a basketball-sized fireball every shot in low light, and lights up the entire range when I kill the lights completely.

Original gray finish and black re-arsenal.....My buddy made the grips, checkering too!

These guns are sweet but I could not pay the prices I see today. I paid 95 I think but that was ten years ago when they flooded the market. The only thing I love about it is ammo price. Who cares if you cant find it at wal mart when you can get it for $120/1260 at sportsmansguide.com. Now if you want to play CZ for less I would go with the 82, you can get one for 200 bucks, find (SD) ammo and it is ALOT more gun. I have both and though the 52 is a beast the 82 is much more practical.
Fast- Love love love the grips, they look sooo sweet!

The '52 is a lot of fun to shoot and I would recommend getting one. I think the metal these are made of is somewhat questionable since I recently put a split down the side of my slide. I would definitely consider this a pistol for a more advanced shooter (which I'm sure everyone on this board is) since the grips don't seem to lend themselves to accurate shooting and can feel awkward. I see the people on this post put the hand-all grip on them which I have also done, I feel this makes it so much easier to shoot.

I have them on mine too, and I don't even like the Hogue grips lol. For me it was just a lesser of two evils. The clip system that attaches the grips on these lets the grips move around a bit - annoying. For me the slip on (which clamps down on them a bit) is just less annoying than the wiggly grips.

I agree and I own both so I can say without a doubt the 82 is by far the better CCW.......I didn't buy the 52 though to be a CCW so as practical as the 82 is with all its modern features, it will never shoot the 7.62x25 cartridge and therein lies the allure of the 52. ;)

The cz-82 is a modern gun, suitable for carry. The cz-52 is an old gun, suitable for having fun at the range. Or maybe taking out zombies wearing light body armor. You can't really compare the two.

No doubt the power of 7.62x25, love the bang/fire ball and then seeing peope get hit with brass about 15 yards away!

I couldn't warm up to my CZ-52 enough to keep it. I believe a paid around $90 a few years ago, but when I saw they were selling for, I felt it was best to let it go to someone who would enjoy it more and use the proceeds to purchase a 2nd M57, which fits me so much better.

No doubt they are loads of fun though!

I got a nice deal on one w/ 3 mags, holster, extra firing pin and extra 9mm barrel made by Century for $250 just over a year ago.

If you go to the gun shows you can find surplus 7.62X25mm for seven dollars and change for 72 rounds. That's the best argument for owning either a TT Tokarev or
CZ-52!

I would have bought the 52 regardless of the el-cheapo surplus ammo and that's exactly what it is. I bought a tin of Romanian which people was claiming was good ammo, not...lol....At least a 1/3 of it is so far out of spec it's probably dangerous. :uhoh:

I can buy a box of 50 S&B (shown in my first pic) from my FFL for $14.00 and it's well worth it for any serious shooting. When people say they can't hit squat with the 52 it's probably the surplus ammo. I was kind of all over the place with the stuff too. As soon as I switched to the commercial S&B the pistol shot exactly where I was aiming.

My 52 is a tack driver with S&B but it's hard to stay on paper with the crap surplus, it's so inconsistent. If you own a CZ or Tok and haven't bought some commercial ammo and don't like your groups, give it a try before you kick the old girl to curb.....IMO

How do y'all like CZ82s?

Great gun. G19 sized, so suitable for carry (it is heavy though), decent sights, reliable, fantastic trigger. Perhaps I just got a good one, but the trigger on my cz-82 in both DA and SA is amazingly good. Both the DA and SA pulls make any Sig or H&K trigger I've tried feel downright crappy, and the SA pull is on par with a good 1911 trigger. Seriously.

Only two bad things can be said about the CZ82....Crappy painted finish and mag release parts could need some polishing & tweaking. By today's polymer standards it's heavy for its size. I personally don't care it's all steel after all. :)

Otherwise, I can't think of a more formidable weapon for the price. Reliable as they come. Accuracy and speed of follow up shots is just phenomenal for a compact. You won't believe it till you shoot one. Ambidextrous controls (safety & mag release), DA/SA with cocked & locked capabilities if you choose or hammer down first shot. 3 dot sights sight that are the same as CZ75 so nights sights are available, if you choose. Superb trigger for DA/SA

Also, I just flat like the 9x18 cartridge, much better than the .380.....Many act like they're just about identical but the 9x18 seems substantially hotter to me and the larger diameter is quite noticeable. It's definitely a better defensive round...IMO

I got all this for $225 out the door.....Go get one, you won't regret it!
