CZ Model P40 .40SW - Need Info

All: My buddy and I were in a local gunshop last night and he saw a CZ model P40 (.40SW) auto. Price was $538.00
It seemed like a decent gun, but I told him to check out THR prior to buying. Has anyone heard of this model? I can't find it in the new CZ USA catalog. Is it worth $538.00 plus tax?

Well, they make a 40P.....not a P40. The price you found is only a couple of hundred bucks too much.............click this.

If thats the one.........run away from the store you went to and dont look back.

The 40P is a hybrid gun that CZ used some parts from other guns, PO1 and the CZ40B, designed by Colt, to get rid of the parts they have no use for.
This is a very limited run gun and isnt in the catalog....or on the website for said reasons.............its a favorite CZ as luck would have it.

Ditto, a CZ40P goes for $299.99 at J&G Sales in Prescott. Order in to your shop, and just pay recieve fees...watch them squirm.
Now, if it is a Colt marked Z-40, GRAB IT! They only made 800 of them....

There is also a CZ-40B, which is not a mix of parts, and its priced about the same as the 40P and is a very nice gun. (Its available in the $300 range.)

$500+ is way too much for a CZ40B or CZ40P. It would be a great price for a Colt/CZ known as the Z-40.

The 40P isn't a bad gun, but its not a $500+ gun, either.
